At Eritrea Festival 2014 Speech, EPDP Chairman Urged Eritreans to Struggle to End their heartbreaking Situation

In his keynote address at the Eritrea Festival 2014 in Frankfurt on 9 August, 2014, Mr. Menghisteab Asmerom, chairman of the Eritrean People’s Democratic Party (EPDP), reminded all compatriots opposed to the regime that change could not be achieved until now because of lack of sufficient “political will and courage” and listed the challenges that needed to be addressed now.

On Sunday August 10, 2014 EPDP Bay Area participated in a Bologna 2014 Conference hosted by EYSC local chapter. The agenda was to discuss core topics of the upcoming Bologna 2014 Conference. Mr. Solomon Assefaw presented the topics of Bologna 2014 in detail. Participants discussed the topics and specifically on the area of Eritrean issue by Eritreans concept, change from inside Eritrea, concept of non-violent means of struggle, building alliance with people who has the same vision and value, and mass mobilization.

ብዛዕባ ሓደ ዓብይ ንብዙሓት ዝምልከት ዕማም ክንሓስብ ወይ ክንሻቐል እንከለና፡ ክንጥንቀቐሉ ካብ ዝግበኣና ብዙሕ ጉዳያት እቲ ሓደ “እታ ሓቂ ወይ መዋጸኦ ምሳይ ጥራይ እያ ዘለና” ኢልና ከይንድምድም እሞ በበይንና ከይንተሓላለው እዩ። ኣብዚ እዋንዚ ንሕና ኤርትራውያን ሓደ ዓብይ ኣይኮነንዶ በበይንና “ሓቢርና’ኳ እንተኽኢልናዮ” ዘብል ኣሰካፊ ዋኒን ምድሓን ህዝብን ሃገርን ኣለና። ካብዚ ንኹልና ዘሰክፈና ዘሎ መከረ ንምውጻእ ፍልልይ ሃይማኖትና፡ ቋንቋና፡ ከባቢያዊ መበቆልናን ፖለቲካዊ እምንቶናን ብዘየገድስ ናይ ኩላትና ናይ ሓባር ሓሳብ፡ ጉልበትን ንዋትን ኣበርክቶ ዝሓትት እዩ። ናይዚ ኣበሃህላ’ዚ ሓጺር መልእኽቲ ብመትከል እንካን-ሃባን እንዳ ተመላላእካ ክሳብ እቲ መዋጸኦ ዝርከብ ብሓባር ንቕድሚት ምድፋእ ዝብል እዩ።

‘ጸላኢ ጸሎሎ ቀባኢ’ ዝብሃል ምስላ ኣበው ብሓቂ ነት ነዘን ዝስዕባ ሕቶታት ኣብ መርበብ ሓበረታ መስከረም ነት ኣብ ናይ ዕለት 07-08-2014 ዘቕረበ ዝምልከት ኣንቢበ። እተን ሕቶታት ዋነአን መን ምዃኑ እኳ እንተዘይተገልጸ፡ መስከረም ነት ዝሕተተሉ ኢዩ ክኸውን። ብዝኾነ ኣብተን ሕቶታት ክወስደኩም እሞ ነፍሲ ወከፍ ኣንባባይ ነናቱ ትዕዝብትን ሚዛንን ከንብርን ንሃገርናን ህዝብናን ዝድሕነሉ እውን ሓሳብ ከሕድር ይኽእል ይኸውን። እተን ሕቶታት ብኸምዚ ዝስዕብ ኢየን ተር ኢለን ተጠቒሰን ዘለዋ።’’ ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ንመድረኽ ናብ ኢትዮጵያ ንምእታው ዲዩ? እዚ ኹሉ ፈስቲቫል ፍራንክፈርት ? ነዚ ኣስደማሚ መፈንጥራ ባይታ ንምፍጣር? ዓቢ ትጽቢት ተገይሩሉ ዘሎ ቦሎኛ 2014 ንምምካን? ሎምስ መን ኢዩ ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ኢልካ ምሕታት ግዚኡ ዝኣኸለ ይመስል፡ ብማለት ‘መን ኢዩ ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ብዝብል ኢዩ ሕቶኡ ደምዲሙ።
The Eritrea Festival 2014 in Frankfurt, which was officially opened by a seminar on Friday, continued on Saturday, 9 August, in which the main events that lasted for 10 hours included political presentations; solidarity messages; an in-depth presentation on human trafficking in Sinai, followed by a highly successful Festival Panel that continued till 11:15 pm followed by an all-night folkloric music and dancing accompanied by Eritrean singers of good renown like Andit Oqbai of UK.
