ኣቦመንበር ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ (ሰዲህኤ) ኣቶ መንግስተኣብ ኣስመሮም ኣብ ዓመታዊ ኣኼባ ናብ ዘለዉ መራሕቲ ኣፍሪቃ ኣብ ዝጸሓፎ መጸዋዕታ፡ ኤርትራ ምስዚ ዶባ ምስ ሱዳን ምዕጻዉ ጠቕሊላ ካብ ዓለም ከይትዕጾ ኣጠንቂቑ`። እቲ ዝኸፈአ ሳዕቤን ቅድሚ ምምጻኡ ስጉምቲ እንተዘይተወሲዱ፡ እዚ ኩነታ ናብ ናይ ህዝቢ ሓያል ጥምየት ከየመርሕ ከም ዘፍርሕ’ውን ስግኣቱ ገሊጹ።

እቲ ብ27 ጥሪ 2018 ናብ ኣቦመንበር  ኮሚሽን ሕብረት ኣፍሪቃ ኣቶ ሙሳ ፋኪ ማሃማት ዝተላእከ መዘክር  ሰዲህኤ፡ ነቶም ካብ 28 ጥሪ ጀሚሮም ንክልተ መዓልታት ዝእከቡ መራሕቲ ኣፍሪቃ፡ ናይ ኤርትራ ባዕለ እገዳ ካብ ቀንዲ መዛረቢ ኣጀንዳታቱ ሓደ ክኸውን ጸዊዑ። ኣተሓሒዙ ድማ እቲ ጉዳይ ቀዳምነት ክወሃቦ ዝድለለየሉ ምኽንያት ብሰንኪ ጨቋኒ ምምሕዳር ስርዓት ኣስመራ፡ ኣብታ ሃገር ናይ ዘለዉ  ሚልዮናት ሰባት ናይ ሞትን ሕየት ጉዳይ ስለ ዝኾነ እዩ ኢሉ።

ብዘይካዚ መልእኽቲ ሰዲህኤ፡ ተሳተፍቲ መበል 30 ዋዕላ ሕብረት ኣፍሪቃ ብዛዕባቶም ኣብ እስራኤል ኣብ ኣጸጋሚ ኩነታት ዘለዉ መብዛሕትኦም ኤርትራውያን ዝኾኑ 40 ሺሕ ኣፍሪቃውያን ስደተኛታት ዝሕግዝሉ ኩነታት ብተገዳስነት ክመያየጡ ኣትሪሩ ተማሕጺኑ።

ምስዚ ከኣ እቲ መዘክር፡ እዚ ኣፍሪቃዊ ኣኼባ ኣብ ቀይሕ ባሕርን ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃን ዝረአ ዘሎ  ወጥሪ ንምህዳእ ኩሉ ዝከኣሎ ንክገብር  ጸዊዑ። ኣብዚ ኣኼባ መራሕቲ ኣፍሪቃ፡ ዋና ጸሓፊ ሕቡራት ሃገራት ኣንቶንዮ ጉተረዝን መራሒ ፍልስጥኤም ማሕቡድ ዓባስን’ውን ይሳተፉ ኣለዉ።

In an urgent message to African leaders currently meeting in Addis Ababa, EPDP Chairman Menghesteab Asmerom warned that Eritreans, shut out from the entire world after the recent closure of border with the Sudan,  are now totally "exposed to a looming mass starvation" unless action is taken to avert the worst before things get too late.

In the message dated 27 January and addressed to African Union Commission Chair, Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, the EPDP Chairman reminded African leaders taking part at the two-day summit opening Sunday, 28 January, that Eritrea's self-imposed embargo should be among the top agenda items in because it will be a matter of life and death of millions in the country who are by  impoverished by the ongoing disastrous policies of the belligerent regime in Asmara.

The EPDP message also strongly appealed to the participants of this 30th Assembly of African leaders to seriously discuss as to what AU can do to help the 40,000 Africans stranded in Israel, a vast majority of them from Eritrea.  

In addition, the message urged the African summit meeting "to do its utmost to help cool down the tensions heating up in the Red Sea and Horn of Africa region".

An Appeal to AU's Attention to  Beleaguered Eritreans

Your Excellency Au Commission Chairman,

On behalf of the leadership and members of the Eritrean People’s Democratic Party (EPDP), an opposition organization in exile, I feel honoured to address this message wishing  a resounding success to this 30th Ordinary Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) meeting under the important theme, "Winning the Fight against Corruption: A Sustainable Path to Africa's Transformation".

We share the view that corruption, in all of its ugly aspects, is one of the central root causes of the ongoing suffering of our peoples in the continent, and we hope that conclusions of this summit will show a renewed resolve to fight this plague. 

Secondly, and while appealing to this Assembly to do its utmost to help cool down the tensions heating up in the Red Sea and Horn of Africa region, we also wish to call upon you to discuss the problem of endangered lives in Eritrea because of a self-imposed embargo. The people are completely shut out from the outside world and are no doubt  exposed to a looming mass starvation.

 Dear AU Commission Chairman  and Assembly Participants,

As you know, Eritrea's borders with Djibouti and Ethiopia have been closed since a long time, and the only outlet for limited commerce and trade for the people was the Sudan until two weeks ago. Even the unlikely sea rout to Yemen is not available for known reasons. The only "open" outlet is the unreachable blue sky.

Dear Madams/Sirs at the 30th AU Assembly,

You are well aware that the regime in Asmara is in total isolation due to its own bad relations with its neighbours and most of the outside world. You know, as we do, that the UN sanctions were targeted and had no adverse effect on the people. Those nominal UN sanctions, most of which are unfortunately not fully implemented to this day, were meant to serve only three purposes: 

• To control the sale/purchase of weapons by the belligerent regime;
• To check bank accounts and visa applications of a few regime figures, and
• To stop illegal money extortions by the embassies of the rogue regime.

The regime has been alleging that the "UN sanctions were affecting the people". That was an fabricated excuse, a pure lie. It is  the self-imposed embargo - isolation of the country from all of its neighbours -  that has pauperized the entire population which is now at the brink of a looming mass starvation following the closure of the Sudan border.

This is an alarm call, Sirs/Madams, and we hope you will take note of it.  

Needless to add, problems of beleaguered Eritreans at home and abroad are endless. To say it briefly, we hope you will also take note of the 40,000 African refugees/migrants in Israel, 30,000 of them from Eritrea, now being threatened to either leave Israel to "anywhere" till April 2018 or face endless prison term. Their plight no doubt deserves the attention of this 30th AU Assembly of African leaders. I trust ,Sir, that your esteemed office will share this message with all participants of this two-day summit  opening on Sunday, 28 January 2018.

Tthe Eritrean People's Democratic Party (EPDP)  

Messrs. Tesfai Woldedmichael (Degiga), Head of the EPDP Organizational Office; Fissehaye Hagos, Head of Social Affairs Office and Chairman of the Party Renewal Commission, and Gherezghiher Tewelde, representative of the EPDP Chair Office in North America, on 20 January 2018 attended an electronic meeting of the EPDP North America Zone and briefed them on various issues of great concern to the current struggle for democratic change in Eritrea.

Called by the preparatory committee for an extraordinary congress of EPDP North America (USA and Canada), the key agenda items of the meeting included the following: a) current status of the party, the Eritrean opposition camp as well as recent development in the Horn of Africa and Red Sea basin; b) progress of the EPDP Party Renewal Commission, and c) procedures related to the preparation of the  extraordinary  congress for North America. 

Mr. Tesfai Degiga explained in great detail not only current developments within the party and the Eritrean opposition camp but also about EPDP's concerns regarding the ongoing warmongering in the region surrounding Eritrea.

Executive Committee member Fissehaye Hagos on his part explained the progress so far made by the 11-member Party Renewal Commission whose main task until the 3rd EPDP congress will be identifying existing strengths and shortcoming in the party and referring for implementation effective and new ways of doing things. 

Chair Office Representative Gherezghiher Tewelde  also seized the occasion to dwell in detail about past achievements of the Congress Preparatory Committee headed by Mr. Desbele Kahsai and the procedures adopted by the Electoral Committee that he, Gherezghiher himself, chairs. 

The meeting participants, who included a satisfactory number of young and new party members from Canada, highly commended the extensive clarifications made by the leadership members and expressed renewed passion to redouble efforts in the struggle for democratic change. Many speakers among the 60+ meeting participants also alluded to the crazy moves of a few former colleagues in the zone who posted an announcement of their still-born groupie in Meskerem.Net  dishonestly and misleadingly referring to the name of EPDP.

ሓው ፍስሃየ ሓጎስ ኣባል ፈጻሚ ኣካልን ሓላፊ ማሕበራዊ ጉዳያት ቤት ጽሕፈትን ብወገኑ ንመደብ ሕደሳ ሰልፊ ብደቂቅ ኣብሪሁ። ሕደሳ ሰልፊ ካብ ኣባላት ባይቶን ፈጻሚ ኣካልን ዝቆመ 11 ዝኣባላቱ ኮሚሽን እዩ ኢሉ ምስ ኣባላት ኣላሊይዎ። ዕላምኡ ኸኣ ንሓያልን ድኽመትን ጐንታት ስልፊ መሚዩ ንዕቤትን ዓወትን ዝኣመቱ ቅድታት ምትግባር እዩ ኢሉ ገሊጹ።

ሓው ገረዝግሄር ተወልደ ኣቦ መንበር ኣምራጺት ሽማግለ ብወገኑ ኣገባብ ጉባኤ ኣብሪሁ። ንዝቀረቡ ሕጹያት’ውን ብኣኼበኛ ምጽዳቆም ኣረጋጊጹ።

ኣኼባ ኣስታት 20 ዝኽኑ ሓደስቲ ኣባላት መንእሰያት ካብ ካናዳ ዘኣንገደ እዩ ነይሩ። ንባህሊ ኣኼባ ብጣዕሚ ንኢዶም። ኣኸበኛታት ንዝቀረበ ትሕዝቶ ኣኼባ ኣመጒሶም። መሪሕነት ሰልፊ ዝውስዶ ዘሎ ኣንፈት ናይ ዓወት ጕዕዞ ምዃኑ ኣስሚርሉ። ንዝኾነ ኣብ ስልፍና ዝቀንዐ ብድሆታትን ሽርሕታትን ክምህ ከምዘይብል ኣረጋጊጹ። ብስም ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ኣብ መስከረም ነት ዝወጸ ዓጀውጀው  ብተበግሶ መሰረታት ኣብ ሕርሲ ከይበጽሐ ዘቈልዐ ጥንሲ እዩ ኢልዎ። ህዝቢውን ሕረሕራይ ገሩ መንነቶም ይፍለጦም።

ዓወት መተካእታ የልብሉን!

ምምሕዳር ቤት ጽሕፈት ጉዳያት መንእሰያት ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ትማሊ ሓሙስ ዕለት 18 ጥሪ 2018 4ይ ምዱብ ኣኼባኡ ብምክያድ፣ ኣብ ኣገድስትን ኣዋናውያንን ዛዕባታት ዘትዮም። ኣባላት ምምሕዳር ቀዳምነት ሂቦም  ብዕምቆት ዝዘተዩሉ ኣርእስቲ፣ መቀጸልታ ናይቲ ዝሓለፈ 3ይ ምዱብ ኣኼባ ኮይኑ፣ ንቅሓትን ተረደኦን ሰፊሕ ህዝብና ክብ ኣቢልካ፣ ዜጋታት ኣብ ጉዳይ ህዝቦምን ሃገሮምን ኣብ ክንዲ ተዓዘብቲ ቀንዲ ተዋሳእቲ ከምዝኾኑ፣ ናይ ሓድነትን ስምረትን ባይታ ፈጢሮም ሓቢሮም ከምዝቃለሱን ንምግባር ዘብቅዕ ሃዋህው ምፍጣር ዝብል እዩ። ቤት ጽሕፈት ጉዳያት መንእሰያት ሰልፊ ደሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ምስ ኩሎም ካልኦት ኣብያተ ጽሕፈታትን ትካላትን ሰልፊ ብምትሕግጋዝ፣ ነዚ መደብዚ ክውን ንምግባር ዘካይዶ ዘሎ ናይ ምድላዋት ጻዕርታት በጺሕዎ ዘሎ ደረጃ ድማ ሓደ ብሓደ ሪእዩን ገምጊሙን። ሊዕሊ 90 % ምእታዊት ናይቲ ዘድሊ ምድላዋት ተሰላሲሉ ከምዘሎ ድማ መዚኑ። እቲ ምድላዋት ዘተኣማምን ምዃኑ ድሕሪ ምርግጋጽ ድማ፣ እቲ ፓልቶካዊ ናይ ኣስተምህሮን ዘተን መደብ ኣብ ምጅማር ወርሒ ለካቲት 2018 ክፍልም ከምዝኽእል ወሲኖም።

ብምቅጻል ኣባላት ምምሕዳር ቤት ጽሕፈት ጉዳያት መንእሰያት ሰልፊ ኣብ ሓድነት ሰልፊ ዝረእ ዘሎ ናይ ውሑዳት ጉጅለ ዘሕዝን ናይ ምፍንጫል ስጉምትን ኣገባቡን ብምምይያጥ ሪቶታት ድሕሪ ምልውዋጥ፣ ናይ ሓባር ሚዛን ኣቀሚጦምሉ። ውጹዕ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ኣብ ጽባሕ ሓዲሽ ዓመት ብስራት ዓወትን፣ ሓድነትን፣ ስምረትን ክሰምዕ ዝነበሮኳ እንተኾነ፣ ንናይ ሓሳባት ፍልልያት ኣብ ክንዲ ብልዝብን ብሕግን ዝፈትሕ ብምፍንጫል ናይ ምፍታሕ ባህሪ ዝሳዕረረ ፖለቲካዊ ባህሪ ግን ንህዝቢ ኤርትራ ኣንጻር ትጽቢቱ ዳግማይ ምፍንጫል ከበስሮ ምኽኣሉ ንማን ዘነይት ከምዘይኮነ ተገምጊሙ። ዝኾነ ዝፍንጨል ኣካል ኮነ ሓዲሽ ፖለቲካዊ ማሕበር ዝምስርትውን፣ ቀንዲ ዕላምኡ ንመላኺ ስርዓት ኣስመራ ኣሊኻ ህዝቢ ምድሓንን ደሞክራስያዊ ስርዓት ምትካልን እምበር ምቓልስቱ ንዝጸንሓ ኣካል ንምድኻም ክኸውን ከምዘይብሉ ኣተሓሳሲቡ።

ኣብ መወዳእታውን፣ ዝኾነ ኣባልን ኣካልን ናይ ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ እየ ዝብል፣ ንሰልፊ ደሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ብቲ ሓቀኛን ትካላዊ መስመርን ተኸቲሉ ካብ ጌጋታቱ ብምእራም፣ ካብ ድኽመታቱ ድማ ዓቅሚ ዘፍቀዶ ኣበርክቶ ብምግባር እዩ ንሰልፊ ከቅንዕን ከዐውትን ዝኽእል እምበር ብምፍንጫል ከምዘይኮነ ኣገንዚቡ።

ዓወት ንፍትሓውን ደሞክራስያውን ቃልስና!

ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ (ሰዲህኤ) በቲ መንግስቲ ሆላንድ ብ17 ጥሪ 2018 ኣብ ልዕሊ ኤርትራዊ ኣፈጻሚ ጉዳይ ዝተወስደ ስጉምቲ  ምስጋናኡ ገሊጹ። እቲ ኣፈጻሚ ጉዳይ ኤምባሲ ካብ ሆላንድ ንክስጎግ ዝተወሰኖ ብሰንክቲ ዲፕሎማስያዊ ሕጊ ጥሒሱ ኣብታ ሃገር ካብ ዝነብሩ ኤርትራውያን ናይ ኣታዊኦም 2% ቀረጽ ከኽፍል ዝፈጥሮ ብዝነበረ በደልን ካልእ ዘይሕጋዊ ተግባራትን እዩ።

እቲ ብ18 ጥሪ 2018 ናብ ወጻኢ ጉዳይ ሚኒስትሪ ሆላንድ ዝተላእከ መልእኽቲ ሰዲህኤ፡ ናይታ ሃገር ወጻኢ ጉዳይ ሚኒስተር ሃልበ ዚጅስተራ ነቲ ብስም ሰልፍን ኩሎም ተመሳሳሊ ስጉምቲ ዝጽበዩ ኤርትራውያንን ናብ መንግስቲ ሆላንድ ዝተላእከ ሰላምታ ከመሓላልፍሉ ሓቲቱ። ኣተሓሒዙ ድማ ኣብ ልዕሊ ወጻዒ መንግቲ ኤርትራን ኣብ መላእ ዓለም ካብ ኤርትራውያን 2%  ኣገዳዲ ግብሪ የኽፍሉ  ዘለዉ ኣካላቱን ተመሳሳሊ  ስጉምትታት ክውሰድ ዘለዎ ተስፋ ገሊጹ።

መልእኽቲ ሰዲህኤ ምስዚ ብምትሕሓዝ፡ በቲ ካብ ነዊሕ ግዜ ትጽቢት ዝተገብረሉ ኣብ ልዕሊቲ ኤርትራዊ ጉዳይ ኣፈጻሚ ኣቶ ተኸስተ ገብረመድህን  ብዝተወስደ ስጉምቲ ብስም እቶም ነዚ ስጉምቲ ክጽበዩ ዝጸንሑ፡ ቅሳነት ከም ዝተሰመዖ ገሊጹ። ብመንጽር እዚ ነቲ ተግባር “ዓብይ ስጉምቲ ንቕድሚት” እዩ ኢሉ፡ ካለኦት ሃገራት ኤውሮጳ ነዚ ስጉምቲ ክም ኣብነት ወሲድን ክስዕበኦ ዘለዎ ትጽቢት ገሊጹ

እቲ መልእኽቲ ኣተሓሒዙ ንግስነት ሆላንድ መንግስቲ ኣስመራ ዘይሕጋውን  ካብ ሃገሩ ወጻኢ’ውን ዘይሕጋውነት ከስፋሕፍሕ ዝሰርሕን ምዃኑ ኣዘኻኺሩ። ብመንጽር እዚ ናይ ሆላንድ ፓርላማ፡ ናይ ፍርዲ ኣካላትን ካቢነትን ንግጉይ ኣሰራርሓ ኣካላት መንግስቲ ኤርትራ ንምቁጽጻር ክሰርሕዎ ዝጸንሑ ኣብነታዊ ምዃኑ ኣስፊሩ። ብመንጽር እዚ ኣብ ልዕሊቲ ዓመጸኛ ዝተወስደ ስጉምቲ ዓብይ ስጉምቲ ንቕድሚት እዩ ኢሉ።

The Eritrean People's Democratic Party (EPDP) sent a message of gratitude to Holland for its Government's action on 17 January rendering the Eritrean Charge d'Affaires in the Hague persona non grata for his continued abusive practices related to collection of the illegal 2% tax and threats to Eritreans in performing its illicit collections.

The EPDP message, addressed to Dutch Foreign Ministry in the early hours of 18 January 2018, request Foreign Minister Halbe Zijstra to kindly convey  to the people and Government of Holland the gratitude and salutations of the  EPDP  sent on behalf of its rank and file and "many suffering Eritreans who are waiting similar and, hopefully also more stern, measures against the abusive regime and its agents who continue to extort 2% taxes and other illegal collections from Eritreans around the globe". 

The EPDP message further expressed "heartfelt delight and sigh of relief" on behalf of many for this long awaited action against the Eritrean Embassy Charge d'Affaires, Mr. Tekeste Ghebre-Medhin. It terms the measure "a great step forward" and hoped that the rest of Europe and others "will emulate this appropriate example".

The message added: "As the Kingdom of the Netherlands knows it well, the regime in Asmara is lawless and constantly works to spread its lawlessness beyond its territory.  What the Dutch Parliament, your judiciary system and the Dutch Cabinet have been doing to check the abuses of the agents of the Eritrean regime were always commendable. And now, this action against the abusive Charge D'Affaires is a great step forward."
