EPDP: Fearless of Party Renewal, Changes In Leadership & Defense of National Unity

One of the worrisome and deeply entrenched bad habits and practices in Eritrean political landscape since a long time is the resistance of leading figures to leave office on time and without a problem. The Eritrean dictator, Isaias Afeworki, is one such bad example. As we all know, he has been in topmost position of power for 48 years since he created a political organization in 1971 that he always controlled, including during his unchallenged stay in power since 1991.
But can’t one say that the EPDP has already become an exception - a good example in changing that bad habit? Let us cite a few promising examples below.
The EPDP is now 10 years old. Within this short 10-year period, the party has managed to change four chairmen, including the recently elected one. Their names are shown in the caption to their pictures below.
In principle, the EPDP Constitution allows the Central Council to elect or re-elect party chairperson at every regular meeting which is held annually. The rest of the eight executive committee members are also elected or re-elected every year by the Central Council. This means that the Council can change, if it so wishes, party chairperson every year. On top of this, no one person can be allowed to be a candidate for party chair if he/she has already served two terms between congresses - that is, a maximum service of 8 years after being subjected to every-year scrutiny and re-election.
The New EPDP Leadership
The 3rd and Unity Congress that was held in July-August 2019 in Wiesbaden, Germany, has continued this tradition of fearlessness to renew the party and its leadership at all levels.
In the new EPDP Executive Committee, six of the nine posts are now occupied by new holders. As noted earlier, the party chairman is new to the post; the head of foreign relations is new; the party secretary is new; the head of financial affairs is new; the head of youth affairs is new, and even the head of organizational affairs is new to the post!!
The Constitution allows a newly elected chairman to submit his candidates for each executive office and each person is voted by the Central Council separately. The Council, which itself is elected at congresses for a four-year term, can drop anyone of the chairperson’s candidates and can bring its own.
The new EPDP Central Council consists of 35 voting members and five non-voting reserve members who, however, have all the right to participate in leadership meetings and activities. Of these newly- elected 35+5 Council members, 19 are new, including the partners in the unity process.
Diversity is one of the primary efforts focused at EPDP congresses although the success has been slow. For instance, the recent unity congress was attended 14 women delegates of whom 8 were elected to the leadership.
EPDP and Its Nominating Committee:
At least since its founding ten years back, the EPDP has the method of designating a Nomination Committee which strives to have the participation of all party members in selecting those who can be preseted as leadership candidates in party congresses. As the chairman of this body for the 3rd and Unity Congress, Gherezghiher Tewolde reported, 29 branches and 8 individuals at isloated locations actively participated in nominating CC candidates. The final count of candidates, including four added by the Congress itself, was 58. It was on this list approved by all members of both uniting sides that the Unity Congress voted and elected the 35 CC members and five reserve members.
The Unityf Congress also expanded and upgraded the mandate of the Nominating Committees of the future to be active at all party structures, including zons and branches. The Nominating Committees shall have the power of presenting final list of candidates to party leadership at all levels, both for the legislative and executive branches. This advanced method of nominating candidates for leadership has been successfully used at party congresses in the Scandinavian region and other countries.

1. ኣብ ኤርትራ ምልካዊ ስርዓት ንምስዓርን ዲሞክራሲያዊ ለውጢ ንምርግጋጽን፣ ጻዕርታትና ክነወሃህድን ብሓባር ክንሰርሕን፤
2. ኣብ ሓባራዊ ሃገራዊ ረብሓታት ሕድሕድና ንምትሕግጋዝ ኣወንታዊ ተግባራዊ ስጉምታት ክንወስድ፤
3. ዲፕሎማሲያዊ ንጥፈታትና ክነዋሃህድን ሓባራዊ ጽዕርታት ክነካይድን፤
4. ኣብ ውሽጢ ኤርትራን ኣብ ወጻኢ (ዲያስፖራን) ዝካየድ ህዝባዊ ምንቅስቓሳት ዘጠቓለለ፣ ንኹሉ ፖለቲካዊ ሓይልታት ዝጥርንፍ፣ ኣብ ሕድሕድና ብምውህሃድ ወይ ብልፍንቲ ስሙር ኤርትራዊ ተቓውሞ ንምፍጣር ክንሰርሕ፤
5. ሰናይ ጉርብትና ምስ ኩሎም ጎሮባብቲ ኤርትራ ንድግፍ፣ ይኹን እምበር፣ እዚ ሞራላዊን ሕጋውን ቅቡልነት ዘይብሉ ምልካዊ ስርዓት ምስ ናይ ወጻኢ መንግስታት ወይ ኣካላት ዝኣትዎም ኩሎም ውዑላት ፣ ናይ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ልዑላውነት ስለ ዝግህሱ ብትሪ ንኹንን፤
6. ሓይልታት ምክልኻልን ጸጥታን ኤርትራ አካል ጭቁን ሕብረተሰብ ኤርትራ ምዃኖም እምነትና ብምዃኑ፣ ኣብ ጎድኒ ህዝቦም ደው ክብሉን፣ ኣብ ኤርትራ ዲሞክራስያዊ ለውጢ ንምርግጋጽ ዕዙዝ ተራ ክጻወቱን ንጽውዕ፤
7. ካብ ምልካዊ ስርዓት ናብ ዲሞክራሲያዊ ምሕደራ ምስግጋር ከቢድን ዝተሓላለኸን መስርሕ ምዃኑ ርዱእ ኢዩ። ስለዝኾነ፣ ኩላትና ንሰማማዓሉ ሓባራዊ መሰጋገሪ ቻርተር ንምስንዳእን ንምትግባርን ብዕቱብ ክንሰርሕ ተሰማሚዕና፤
8. ነዚ ስምምዕ ናይ ዝኸተሙ ኣካላት ወከልቲ ዝሳተፍዎ ናይ ትግባረ ፎረም ንምቛም ተሰማሚዕና፤ ከምኡውን
9. ነዚ ስምምዕ እዚ ዝቕበሉን ኣብ ናይ ትግባረ ፎረም ክሳተፉ ቅሩባት ዝኾኑን ፖለቲካዊ ሰልፍታትን፣ ሲቪክ ማሕበራትን ፣ ናይ መጽናዕቲ ጉጂለታትን ብኽብሪ ንዕድም።
ኣብ ርእስ’ዚ፡ ካብ 29 ሓምለ ክሳብ 1 ነሓሰ 2019፡ ኣብ ቪዝ ባደን፡ ጀርመን ኣብ ዝተኻየደ 3ይን ሓድነታውን ጕባኤ፡ ሃድኤ-ሕድርን ሰዲህኤን ሰሚሮም ሓደ ሰልፊ ክምስርቱ ከምዝበቕዑ ከበስር ከለኹ ደስ ይብለኒ። ኣብ ርእስ’ዚ፡ ምስ ሓድነት ኤርትራውያን ንፍትሒ ሓደ ውድብ ወይ ሰልፊ ንምምስራት ንንውሕ ዝበለ ግዜ ዕቱብ ልዝብ ክካየድ ጸኒሑ ኣሎ። ኣብ ቀረባ እዋን ክዛዘም ድማ ባህግን ድሌትን ክልቲኡ ውድባት ምዃኑ ከረጋግጸልኩም እፈቱ። ከምኡ’ውን፡ ምስ’ቲ 4 ውድባት ዘቖምዎ ኤርትራዊ ሃገራዊ ግንባር ብልፍንቲ ንምስራሕ ኣፈናዊ ልዝብ ጀሚርና ኣሎና።
ኣብ ሽወደን ኣብ ዝተኻየደ 2ይ ጕባኤ ኤርትራዊ ሃገራዊ ባይቶ ንደሞክራስያዊ ለውጢ (ኤሃባደለ)፡ ሰዲህኤ፡ ከምተዓዛቢ ተኻፊሉ። ኣብ ቪዝባደን ኣብ ዝተኻየደ 3ይን ሓድነታውን ጕባኤ ሰዲህኤን ሃድኤ-ሕድርን ድማ ኤሃባደለ ከም ተዓባዚ ተኻፊሉ። ኣብ ርእስ’ዚ፡ ኣብ ሽወደን ኣብ ዝተኻየደ 2ይ ጕባኤ ኤርትራዊ ሃገራዊ ባይቶ ንደሞክራስያዊ ለውጢ ምስ ተቓወምቲ ውድባት ዝላዘብን ንዕርቂ ዝሰርሕን ፍሉይ ቤት ጽሕፈት ከምዝቖመን፡ ሓላፊ እቲ ቤት ጽሕፈት፡ ዶር መሓመድ በሺር፡ ንሰልፍና ክራኸብ ቅሩብነቱ ዝገልጽ መልእኽቲ ድሮ ሰዲዱልናስ፡ ንሕና እውን ድሕሪ ምዝዛም ጕባኤና ክንራኸብ ቅሩባት ምህላውና መሊስናሉ ኣሎና።

ኣቦመንበር ሰዲህኤ፡ ብጻይ ተስፋይ ወልደሚካኤል (ደጊጋ) ብ19 ነሃሰ 2019 ናብ ህዝቢ ሱዳን ናይ ዮሃና መልእኽቲ ሰዲዱ። ንሱ ኣብ ዘመሓላለፎ ሕውነታዊ መልእኽቲ፡ ሱዳናውያን ብሰላማዊ ኣገባብ ናብ ዲሞክራሲ ኣብ ዘሰጋግር ተስፋ ዝህብ ስምምዕ ብምብጸሖም ወሰን ዘየብሉ ሓጐስ ከም እተሰመዖ ገሊጹ።

EPDP Chairman Congratulates Sudan for Finding Formula to Democratic Transition

Mr. Tesfai Woldemichael (Degiga), the newly elected chairman of the Eritrean People’s Democratic Party (EPDP), on 19 August sent a congratulatory message to the people of fraternal Sudan expressing “boundless joy and hope” of many Eritreans for Sudan’s success in reaching “a promising deal for a smooth transition to democratic governance.”

Addressed to General Abdel-Fattah A. Burhan, head of the military council, and Mr. Ahmed al-Rabie, the representative and signatory of the agreement on behalf of the civilian coalition for democracy and change, the message emphatically stated that the agreement reached between the two sides in the Sudan is “both historic and exemplary pact that many friends of the Sudan, including Eritreans, aspire to have for their own peoples.”
The EPDP Chairman did not hide the fact that Sudanese authorities in the past were mostly on the side of the unrepresentative regime in Asmara but that he now hopes that the New Sudan “will open its doors for us in the opposition - “the other Eritrean- and discuss how the Sudanese people can help change the situation also in neighboring Eritrea.”

Dear Sirs,
On behalf of the Eritrean People’s Democratic Party (EPDP) in exile and all its friends and sympathizers at home and in diaspora, I am deeply pleased to convey to you and through you to the people of fraternal Sudan the heartfelt congratulations for your joint success to reach a promising deal for a smooth transition to democratic governance in your country.
Believe me, Sirs, we in the EPDP, a mainstream Eritrean party struggling for a similar democratic transition in our country, and other pro-democracy Eritreans everywhere, are today sharing the boundless joy and hope being expressed by our brothers and sisters in the Sudan. We have been keenly and anxiously following the developments in the Sudan since the very start of the People Power movement which is now being crowned with success.
Your Excellency General Burhan and Brother Ahmed al Rabie,
The document for the transition agreement that you signed on 17 August 2019 is both historic and an exemplary pact that many friends of the Sudan, including Eritreans, aspire to have for their own peoples.
Yet, we also wish to call on all friends in the Sudan to work hard in the years to come in order to guarantee a long lasting success of this hard-won victory, because, as they say, the devil could always be in the detail. In the meantime, we remain trustful that, after so many ups and downs, democracy and the rule of law in the Sudan will finally be a reality.
Dear Sirs,
We in the EPDP have been trying to reach the former authorities in the Sudan through a chain of memoranda addressed to the Foreign Ministry, the Head of State and through Sudan’s Permanent Mission in the UN, but to avail. As you can consult their archives, no responses were made to our earnest appeals to understand the sad situation inside Eritrea and the endless suffering of Eritreans in forced exile. Although this is not the occasion to dwell on this issue, Sirs, we sincerely hope that the new Sudan will open its doors for us in the opposition - “the other Eritreans” - and discuss how the Sudanese people can help change the situation also in neighboring Eritrea.

ምስዚ ብዝተተሓሓዘ፡ ኣባል ማእከላይ ባይቶ፡ ብጸይቲ ፈቨን ጊደዎውን ምስ ብጾት፡ ሃይለ ወልደሚካኤል፡ ዶር ኣክሊሉ ግርማይ፡ ገረዝጊሄር ተወልደን ኣድያም ተፈራን ቃለ መጠይቕ ኣካይዳ፡ ኣብ ፈይስቡክ ዝዘርገሓቶ ውጽኢት ጉባአ ኣብ ምቅላሕ ኣገዳሲ ግደ ነይርዎ።

ስዉእ ተጋዳላይ ሲራክ ዘመንፈስ፡ ብዝሓደሮ ሕማም ሎሚ ንግሆ ዕለት 13 ነሓሰ 2019 ዓ.ም ድሕሪ ፍርቂ ለይቲ ካብ’ዛ ዓለም ብሞት ተፈልዩና። ስዉእ ሲራክ፡ ኣብ ተጋድሎ ሓርነት ኤርትራ ተሰሊፉ ኣብ ዝተፈላለየ ጽፍሕታት ንሃገራዊ ናጽነት ተቓሊሱ። ተሓኤ ኣብ ሱዳን ድሕሪ ምእታዋ ድማ፡ ከም መምህር ኰይኑ ኣብ ፖርት ሱዳንን ኣብ ካርቱምን ዝርከብ ናይ ኤርትራውያን ቤት ትምህርቲ ኣገልጊሉ።
ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ(ሰዲህኤ)፡ ንስዉእ መንግስተ-ሰማይ የዋርሶ፣ ንቤተሰቡን መቃልስቱን ድማ ጽንዓት ክህቦም እናተመነየ፤ ናይ ሓዘኖም ተኻፋሊ ምዃኑ ይገልጽ።

Young EPDP CC Member Adiam Addresses Main Festival Panel

Ms Adiam Haile Rufael from the USA, one of the youngest newly elected Central Council members of the unified EPDP, stressed in her address at the main Festival Panel in Frankfurt on 3 August 2019 that hadnet /unity in the opposition camp and wudeba/organized action are the sure pathways to speedy victory against the repressive regime in Eritrea.
Speaking in English, interspersed with her favourite phrases in Tigrigna, young Adiam drew the attention of the festival audience by calling for a fast and renewed action for change based on knowledge and self criticism. She added: “to be fair, all blame cannot be laid on the regime [in Asmara]; we must own our faults as well.” Unmistakably, she was referring to the unending bickering among all justice seekers, old and new.
Further emphasizing her call for unity and the importance of belonging to or building one’s own strong organization, Ms Adiam Haile said: “We are fighting against an organized political regime that has been able to stay in existence for so long due to our lack of doing what we have begun to do at this Congress together - [unity].”
She criticized some of her generation members who still believe that they should not join organizations led by “the old generation.” Adiam went on advising her generation: “We must not allow ourselves to be fooled into this divisive political propaganda” which she said is being used enemies of the struggle for change in order to keep it fractured. Talking about herself, she said she enjoyed working with senior members of the opposition camp “who have been through the struggle and understand Eritrean politics like no other.”
A long-time activist in the social media, Adiam also addressed a plenary session of the 3rd and Unity Congress held in Wiesbaden, Germany, between 29 July and August 12019 in which she expressed her optimism about the example being set by the unity
attained between the Eritrean National Salvation/Hidri and the EPDP. She also praised the sacrifices everybody made on his/her own to be at the unity congress from faraway places like Australia and remote parts of the USA and Canada.
Elected receiving the highest number of democratic votes attainable at the congress, Ms Adiam Haile Rufael will soon be assigned a number tasks as member of the 35-member Central Council of the unified party, the EPDP.

ኣብ ናይ ሎሚ ዘበን ፈስቲቫል ኤርትራውያን እውን፡ ሽወደናውያን ናይ ነዊሕ ግዜ ኣዕሩኽ ኤርትራ ተሳቲፈምዎ። እዞም ነባራት ኣዕሩኽ ኤርትራ፡ ሽወደናውያን፡ ወዲ 94 ዓመት ነባር ጋዜጠኛ ኣብ 1960ታት ናብ ሓራ መሬት ኤርትራ ዝበጽሑ ቦ ብጀልፍቨንስታንን፡ ነቲ ጉዕዞ ኣብ 1970ታት ዝተጸንበረኦን ብተደጋጋሚ ኣብ ሜዳ ኤርትራ ዝበጸሓ ክርስቲና ብጆርክን እዮም። እዞም ሽወደናውያን ናብ ሜዳ ኤርትራ ክመላለሱ እንከለዉ ኣብ ገጠራት ንዝነብሩ ኤርትራውያን ዝውዕል ብዙሕ ሃገዛት የቕርቡ ነይሮም።
ክርስቲና ኣብቲ ናይ 3 ነሃሰ 2019 ዓውደ-ዘተ ፈስቲቫል፡ ብስመንን ብስም ቦን ኣዝዩ ዓሚቕ ዝኽርን ትዝታን ዘንጸባርቐ መደረ ኣስሚዐን። ኣብቲ ዘረባአን “ሎሚ ኤርትራ ናጻ ሃገር እያ፡ እንተኾነ እታ ክትከውን ዝግበኣ ዝነበረት ኤርትራ ኣይኮነትን” ኢለን። ኣተሓሒዘን ድማ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ሎሚ ምእንቲ መሰሉ ተላዒሉ፡ ነቲ ምልካዊ ስርዓት ከወግዶ እሞ፡ ናይ ነዊሕ ግዜ ሕልሙ ኣግሂዱ፡ ነቶም ኣንጻሩ ውዲት ዝኣልሙን ጠቕሞም ዘቐድሙን ከሕፍሮም ምዃኑ ዝለዓለ ትምኒተን ገሊጸን።
ክርስቲና ብዛዕባ እቶም ዕድመ-ጸገብ ግና ድማ ሓያል ዘለዉ ቦ ኣብ ዝሃበኦ ቃል ህዝቢ ሽወደን ኣብ ኤርትራ ኣንጻር ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ዘይቅኑዕ ውግእ ይካየድ ከም ዝነበረ ዝተረደአ ሳላ ቦ ምዃኑ ጠቒሰን። ቦ ብዛዕባ ቃልሲ ኤርትራ ጸብጻባት ጽሒፎም እዮም። ከምኡ እውን ፊልም ኣወሃሂዶም መደባት ተለቪዥንን ድራማታትን እውን ሰሪሖም። ምናልባት እቶም ቀዳማይ ምስ ንጉሰ ሃይለስላሴ ቃለ-መሓታት ኣካይዶም ብዛዕባ ኣብ ኤርትራ ዝነበረ ኩነታት ዝሓተዎም ቀዳማይ ስዊድናዊ ጋዜጠኛ ንሶም እዮም።
ቦ ካብቶም ኣብ 1970 “Eritrea Gruppen” ብዝብል፡ ምስ ኤርትርውያን ምሕዝነት ክፍጠር ዝነጠፉ እሞ ንክርስቲና ኣብዚ ምሕዝነት ክኣትዋ ሓቲተምወን ዝተቐበለኦ ነይሮም። ክርስቲና ብወገነን ብ1980 “The Land by the Sea” ኣብ ትሕቲ ዝብል ኣርእስቲ ፊልም ኣዳልየን እየን። ናይታ ዳሕረወቲ መጽሓፈን ናይ እንግሊ ቅዳሕ ኣብ ፈስቲቫል ኤርትራ 2019 ቀሪባስ ዓብይ ናእዳ ረኺባ።
ክርስቲና ነቲ መጽሓፈን ብዝምልከት ኣብ ዝሃበኦ ርኢቶ፡ ነቲ ኣብ ተሓኤ ዝካየድ ዝነበረ ቃልሲ ምእንቲ ዲሞክራሲ ኣደኒቐን፡ “እቲ ሰዓራይ ነቲ ታሪኽ ይጽሕፎ” ንዝብ ኣበሃህላ ዘኪረን፡ እንተኾነ ነቲ ታሪኽ በቲ ካልእ ኣካል ዝቐርብ ክሰምዕኦ ከም ዝደልያ ገሊጸን። እንተኾነ መጽሓፈን እቲ ገዳይም ተጋደልቲ ተሓኤ ዝብልዎ ጥራይ ዘይኮነ፡ ምስ ሓያሎ ኣባላት ህግሓኤ ዝተገብረ ቃለ-መሓትት እውን ዝሓዘ እዩ።

Swedish Old Friends of Eritrean Attend Festival 2019 in Frankfurt

This year’s Eritrea Festival in Frankfurt was once more honoured by the presence of long-time friends of Eritrea from Sweden: 94-year old Journalist Bo Bjelfvenstam, who visited Eritrea in the 1960s, and Christina Bjork who joined his team in the 1970s for repeated visits to liberated areas carrying lots of support to needy Eritreans in the countryside.
In her nostalgia-filled inspiring address to the main Festival Panel on Saturday, 3 August, Christina spoke on behalf of herself and Bo. She lamented that Eritrea today “is an independent country, but not the country it could have been,” and hoped that the people will rise up and become masters of their long deferred dreams by dislodging the dictatorship and foiling those “who conspire in the background and prioritize their own power and wealth.”
Speaking about nonagenarian and still strong Bo, she said it was because of him that the Swedish people “understood that an unjust war was going on against the Eritrean people.” Bo wrote reports on Eritrea, produced films and TV programmes and a drama about the Eritrean struggle. He was probably the first Swedish journalist to interview Emperor Haile Selassie and ask him of what was going on in Eritrea!
Bo was among the Swedish citizens in 1970 that became part of a solidarity outfit called Eritrea Gruppen and asked young Christina to join it, which she did.
Christina Bjork herself produced in the early 1980s a film on Eritrea called The Land by the Sea. The English version of her resent book, Eritrea: A Classic African Dictator Took Over, was launched at Eritrea Festival 2019 and attracted many buyers.
Speaking about the book, Christina Bjork, who was appreciative of the dedicated struggle for democracy within the ELF, remarked: “the winner writes the history, but I wanted to hear the stories of those who belonged to the other side.” Hur ser deras historia ut ? However, her book contained not all what former ELF fighters had to tell but also included extensive interviews with former EPLF members.
She says: “They told me why they participated in the liberation struggle, how they were living in the liberated Eritrean areas during the war... aOch varför utvecklades Eritrea till en diktatur?nd why did Eritrea develop into a dictatorship?”
Över femtio år har gått sedan den väpnade kampen för ett fritt Eritrea inleddes och Eritrea har nu varit ett självständigt land i tjugo fem år.Her interviewees included Martyrs Ahmed Nasser, and Dr. Habte Tesfamariam; and Dr. Yusuf Berhanu; Mesfin Hagos; Gherezghiher Tewelde; Menghesteab Asmerom; Adiam Teferra, Arhe Hamednaka, Rezene Tesfazion and many others. Their story is part of the Eritrean history that deserves interested readers’ attention.

ኣብዚ ስእሊ፡ ኣድያም ተፈራ፡ ኣስገደት ምሕረተኣብ፡ መንግስተኣብ ኣስመሮም፡ ኣማኑኤል በራኺ፡ ወልደየሱስ ዓማርን ፍሰሃየ ሓጐስን ይረኣዩ፡
ዓብዱራሕማን ኣሰይድ (ኣቡሃሽም)፡ ተስፋይ ደጊጋ ሓደ ካብቶም ናይ ቃልሲ ምእንቲ ናጽነት ኤርትራ ሓርበኛታትን መራሕቲ ናይዚ ኣብ ወጻኢ ምእንቲ ዲሞክራሲ ኣብ ኤርትራ ዝካየድ ዘሎ ቃልስን እዩ። ንሱ ኣብ 5 ዓሰርተታት ዓመት ዝተዋህለለ ሃብታም ተመኩሮን፡ ኣብዚ ን3 ዓሰርተታት ዓመታት ውረድ ደይብ ቃልሲ ዝተመስከረሉ ናይ ምጽውዋር ጥበብን ዘለዎ እዩ። ኣነ ኣብዚ ዝሓለፈ 10 ዓመታት ኣብ ዝተፈላለየ ኣጋጣምታት ረኺበዮ። ኣብቲ ርክባትና ከምቲ ምስ ናይ ቃልሲ ብጾቱ ዝርእዮ ምቕሉልን ምስታ ከምኡ ዓይነት ባህሪ ዘለዋ በዓልቲ ቤቱ ንናይ ሃገር ምድሓን ቃልሲ ውፉያት ኮይኖም ረኺበዮም። ስለዚ ብጻይ ተስፋይ ደጊጋ ኣቦመንበር ሰዲህኤ ኮይኑ ስለ ዝተመርጸ ዝለዓለ ናይ እንኳዕ ኣሕጐሰካ መልእኽተይ የመሓላልፈሉ። ንዕኡን ንብጾቱን ከኣ ኣብቲ ኣብዛ ፍትውቲ ሃገርና ስቪላዊ ዲሞክራሲ ንምርግጋጽ ዝግበር ዘሎ ቃልሲ ዓወት እምነየሎም።
ስዩም ተስፋይ፡ ነቲ ሓድሽ መዝነትካ እንኳዕ ደስ በለካ። ጽቡቕ መጻኢ ክኾነልካ ንክምነ ከኣ ፍቐደለይ። ናትካ ውህሉል ተመኩሮን ንህልዊ ኰነታት ሃገርና ዘለካ ተረደኦን ኣብዚ ንህዝብና ካብ ዲክታቶርያዊ ወጽዓ ንምንጋፉን ሓድሽ መድረኽ ንምምጻእን ንገብሮ ዘለና ቃልሲ ክሕግዘና እዩ። እንኳዕ ደስ በለካ።.
ሚርያም ሰፕተምበር፡ ንሰዲህኤን ኣቶ ተስፋይ ደጊጋን ስለቲ ዘይዕጸፍ መርገጽኩም ኣብ ዘይጐነጻዊ ኣገባብ ቃልስን ለውጢ ካብ ምሽጢ ኤርትራ እዩ ዝመጽእ ዝብል ራኢኦምን ክብሪ ኣለኒ። ተስፋይ ደጊጋ ናይቲ ዘይጐነጻዊ ኣገባብ ቃልሲ ሃብታም ዓቕምን ሓይልን ከም ዝፈልጥ ኣብ ሓደ መድረኽ ንዓኡ ብዝምልከት ኣስተምህሮ ከቕርብ እንከሎ ተረዲኣ ኣለኹ። ሰዲህኤ እዚ መርገጹ ካለኦት ኣካላት ንክርድእሉ፡ ኣብ ደንበ ተቓውሞ፡ ብኣጸጋሚ ኩነታት እዩ ሓሊፉ። እንተኾነ ኣብኡ ጸኒዑ ሳላ ዝተቓለሰ፡ ሎሚ በቲ ኣብ ኢትዮጵያ ዝተራእየ ፖለቲካዊ ለውጥን፡ ኣብ ሱዳን ዝተኻየደ ህዝባዊ ሰውራን እዚ ፖለቲካዊ ስትራተጅኡ ቀንዲ መንገዲ ክኸውን በቒዑ
ብርሃነ ወልደገብርኤል፡ ዘሕጉስ ምዕባለ ዘግሃደ መልኽቲ! ደሞክራሲያዊ ጠባያት (ብሰላም፡በቢእዋኑ ምርጫታት መሪሕነት) ብዘትኣማምን ኣገባብ ክቕጽል ከም ዘለዎ ብተግባር ንካልኦት ኣርኣያ ስለ ዝኾንኩም፡ዮሃና! ሓውና ተስፋይወ ሚካኤል እንኳዕ ኣመጎሰካ። ንዕማም 'ሓቢርካ ምስራሕ' ፍሉይ ቆላሕታ ሂብኩም፤ ከተዔውትዎ ምሉእተስፋ ኣለኒ።
ሰለሞን ገ/እየሱስ ኣስፋው፡ ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ (ሰድህኤ) ኣብዘንዝሓለፋ መዓልታት ክልተ ዋሃዘብሉ ፍጻሜታት ሰኒዱ ይርከብ። እዞም ቀንዲ ፍጻሜታት ሰድህኤ ምስ ሃድኤ-ሕድሪ ስምረት ክገብር እንከሎ፤ንተጋዳላይ ተስፋይ ወልደሚካኤል (ደጊጋ) ድማ ንብጻዩ ተጋዳላይ መንግስተአብ ስመሮም ተኪኡ ከም ኣቦመንበር ሰልፊ ኮይኑ ክመርሕ መሪጽዎ ኣሎ።
ኩሎም ተጋደልቲ ተ.ሓ.ኤ ብህዝቢ ምንም ዝግብኦም ክብረት ከይረኸቡ በንጻሩ ክንደይ ዘለፋን ውርደትን ተጻዊሮም ነዚ ቃልሲ ናብ ቀጻሊ ወለዶ ምሕላፎም ክምስገኑ ይግባእ።ሓደ ኣብነት ናይዚ ተጋዳላይ ተስፋይ ደጊጋ እዩ ተስፋይ ኣብ ንኡስ ዕድሚኡ ካብ ሕቑፎ ስድርኡ ናጽነት ከምጽእ ናብ ሜዳ ኤርትራ ምስ ወፈረ ስጋብ እዛ እዋን ዳግማይ ሓመድ ዓዱን ኽስዕም ደምበ ዓዱ ክርእይ ዝተሓረሞ ሓርበኛ እዩ።ኤርትራ ብህዝባዊ ሰራዊት ማለት ህዝባዊ ግንባር ሓራ ምስ ወጸት ደጊጋን ብጾቱን ንዕርቅን ሰላምን ዳግመ-ህንጻ ሃገርን እጃሞም ከበርክቱ ድልዋት እኳ እንተነብሩ ዓማጺ መሪሕነት ህዝባዊ ግንባር ግና ማዕጾ ሰላም ረጊጡ ናብታ ንእስነቶም ዝመጠውላ ሃገሮም ከይምለሱ እዩ ዝገበረ።እንሆ ድማ ድሕሪ ናጽነትን 28 ዓመታት ደጊጋን ብጾቱን ንስለፍትሕን ደሞክራስን ይቃለሱ።
ደጊጋ ኣብ እዋን መስዋእቲ ተጋዳላይ መሓመድ ናስር ዝነበሮም ውድባዊ ፍልልይ ብዘየገድስ ነቲ ታሪኻዊ ኣወንታዊ ብጻይነት ጸቒጡ ዝገበሮ ታሪኻዊ መደረን እንታይነት ተስፋይ ደጊጋ ዝገልጽ እዩ።ተስፋይ ካብ ቂምታ ንዕርቂ ካብ ንኽመርሕ ንኽምራሕ ዘቐድም ገዲምን ምኩርን ተቓላሳይ እዩ።ተስፋይ ደጊጋ ካብቶም ብግድምና ዘይኮነስ ብንቕሓትን ርድኢትን ንነገራት ዘመዛዝኑ ተቓላሳይ ኢለ ክገልጾ ይኽእል።ተስፋይ ካብቶም ኣብ ሞንጎ ጀብሃን ሻዕብያን ዝነበረ ቅርሕንቲ ኣኽቲሙ ከም ኣሕዋት ደቂ ሃገር ክሰርሑ ሓድሽ ምዕራፍ ዝኸፈቱ ገስገስቲ መራሕቲ እንተተባህለ ዝተጋነነ ኣይኮነን።ተስፋይ ንብጾቱን ነቲ ቅድሚ ሕጂ ዘርአይዎ ብልጫን ድኻምን ኣብ ግምት ኣእትዮም ናይ ስምረት ስጉምቲ ምውሳዶም ክምስገኑ ይግባእ።
ከምቲ ተስፋይ ኣብ ቦኽሪ ናይ ኣቦመንበር መደርኡ ዝአተዎ መብጽዓ ምስቶም ካልአይ ክፋል ሰድህኤ ክላዘቡን ሽግራቶም ክፈትሑን ልቦም ክኸፍቱ እዮም ዝብል ግምት ኣለኒ።ነቲ ኣብ እዋን ንእስነተይ ናብ ቃልሲ ንዲሞክራስን ፍትሕን ምስተጸምበርኩ ካብ ዝጋጠሙኒ ኣዝዮም ውሑዳት ሸንኮለል ዘይፈትው ናይ ቃልሲ መምህራን ኣያና ተስፋይ ደጊጋ፤ነዚ ጉዳይ ስምረት ልዝብ ንምፍታሕ ግርጭትን ምስተመሳሰልቲ ራእይ ዝውንኑ ሃገራውያን ሰልፍታት ብትብዓትን ብርእሰ ተአማንነት ንክቕጽሎ ለበዋይ ከሕልፍ ይፈትው።ርግጸኛ እየ ሰድህኤ ንዝግብኦን ብቑዕን መራሒ እዩ መሪጹ ዘሎ እሞ ዓወትን ኣሳልጦን።ከምቲ ናይ ቅድሚ ሎሚ ንመጻኢ እውን ሓቢርና ምስ ደጊጋን ብጾቱክን ሰርሕ ወትሩ ሕጉሳትን ድሉዋትን ምዃንና ብስመይን ብስም ናይ ቃልሲ ብጾተይን ናብ ኣቦመንበር ሰድህኤ መልእኽተይ ይሰድድ።

البيان الختامي للمؤتمر الثالث والوحدوي ح ش د أ

انعقد المؤتمر الثالث والوحدوي في مدينة " فيزبادن" الألمانية بتاريخ 29/يوليو حتي يوم واحد اغسطس من عام 2019م تحت شعار نناضل من أجل السلام والعدالة والتنمية والأزدهار وإقامة إدارة ديمقراطية دستورية وفي هذا المؤتمر شاركت جميع خلاية وفروع الحزب المتواجدة في جميع أنحاء العالم عبر ممثليها . اما الفروع والخلاية التي لم تستطع أن تشارك لأسباب موضوعية خاصة بها . بعد ان أوفوا جميع التوجيهات و المعايير لمتطلبات المؤتمر لقد أكدوا مشاركتهم في المؤتمر في اماكن تواجدهم مسبقاً .
لقد انعقد هذا المؤتمر في ظروف خاصة بالمعايير الداخلية منها والخارجية . اما من الناحية الداخلية لقد تمت الوحدة بين الأنقاذ الوطني الأرتري (حدري ) ، وحزب الشعب الديمقراطي الارتري ( ج – ش – د –أ ) وبذلك كان المؤتمر مثالياً يحتذي به . أما من الناحية الخارجية وفي العام المنصرم ما حدث من متغيرات وتطورات متسارعة في أثيوبيا قد عرًت النظام من ستره الذي كان يختبئ به ستر لا حرب ولا سلام .
وهذا الأمر من جانب معسكر المعارضة خلق يقظة وجزب قلوب الكثيرين ومن جانب آخر الاتفاق الذي أبرم بين إثيوبيا وإرتريا وغير واضح المعالم خلق نوعاً من الريبة والشك بإلاضافة إلي ذلك أنعقد المؤتمر في وقت برزت فيه متغيرات وتحالفات إقليمية والدولية جديدة.
المؤتمر في أول أعماله لقد أستمع لتقرير اللجنة التحضرية لاستعدادات المؤتمر وأكد لهم المؤتمرون بشرعية وقانونية التقرير المقدم إليهم. و بعد ذلك قدم رؤساء الحزبين تقرير عن تجارب تنظيماتهم و مسار وحده التنظيمين في شكل ملخص .
بعد ان أستمع المؤتمر لهذه التقارير المختلفة وضع معايير كبيرة واستراتيجية بهذا الشأن. في الوقت الحاضر الذي نناضل فيه من آجل غداً مشرق وإقامة إدارة ديمقراطية بالمقارنة مع الأوضاع المحلية والإقليمية والدولية المعقده في تحديات وازمات كبيرة أكد المؤتمر بأننا قد دخلنا في مرحلة حرجة جديدة.
أيضاً نظر المؤتمر بما يقوم به نظام أسياس لإطالة سلطته من عمل غير مؤسسي والعلاقات غير مقدسة والذي تترك آثراً سيئاً للأجيال القادمة . وإنطلاقاً من هذا أكد المؤتمرون ان ما يقوم به نظام أسياس من خطوات والتي لم تضع أي أعتبار للمصلحة الوطنية والتي تفتقر المعرفة الشعبية وليس لها أي شفافية ووضعت المصلحة الوطنية في أدني صورها .
المؤتمر الوحدوي الثالث:
قدم تعازيه لأهل الضحايا الذين غرقت سفينتهم في يوم 25 يونيو 2019م في البحر الأبيض المتوسط وقدم لهم الترحم لأرواح الضحايا وبعث رسالة الصبر و السلوان لذويهم.
قبل انعقاد المؤتمر الوحدوي انهي التنظيمين علي حدا شؤونه الداخليه و وبداء العمل بمفهوم موحد و لم تواجهه اي عقبات في اداره التحديات و استقلال الفرص كيفما اتت أثناء المؤتمر.
المؤتمر أجاز للأربعة أعوام القادمة برنامج السياسي والدستوري الذي يتقيد به . وكذلك المواضيع المذكورة أدناها :
1/ الأوضاع الراهنة للسيادة الارترية .
2/ أهمية العمل المشترك للمعارضة الارترية .
3/ الانتفاضة الشعبية ( كفاية ) .
4/ التدخلات الخارجية المختلفة في الشأن الوطني .
5/ اللاجئين الارتريين .
6/ قوات الدفاع الارترية .
7/ العلاقات الارترية الإثيوبية المفاجئة .
8/ العلاقات الأرترية السودانية
9/ التيارات السياسية المندفعة في أثيوبيا .
10/ حقوق الإنسان وبعض القضايا الاجتماعية .
أتخذ المؤتمر قرارات سياسية بهذه القضايا قدم المؤتمر نداء لترجمة هذه النقاط في ارض الواقع لحزب الشعب لكل من يطلب التغيير والعدل أن يعمل سوياً وكذلك التنظيمات الصديقة والأحزاب والاتحادات وأن نخرج من النمطية القديمة وننبذ التناحر ونعمل سوياً .
شعبنا الارتري نحن قواتك السياسية كان يجب علينا أن نكون لسانك الذي تتحدث به وأقدامك الذي تزحف به حتي الآن ولأسباب موضوعية وذاتية نعلم علم اليقين بأننا لم نكن قدر طموحاتك وانطلاقا من هذه الحقيقة نطلب منكم بكل التواضع والعفو وأننا نبشركم بهذه الوحدة ونعوضكم مستقبلاً باتفاقات وحدوية مماثلة .
وفي الختام المؤتمر بعد ان أختار تسعة أعضاء للجنة الترشيحات وبعد ان تفحص قائمة أسماء المرشحين التي كان يعمل بها مسبقاً أختار خمسة وثلاثون اعضاء دائمين وخمسة احتياطيين وبذل جهداً مقدراً أن يكون المرشحون يعكسون التنوع الارتري وبعد إكمال المذكور أعلاه نبشر شعبنا بأنان انتقلنا إلي مهرجان فرانك فورت السنوي .
فلنناضل من أجل السلام والعدالة والنماء والازدهار .

New EPDP Chairman Thankful to All Well Wishers; Calls for Unity to End Dictatorship

New EPDP Chairman Tesfai Degiga pledges to work hard to promote unity of the opposition camp.
Mr. Tesfai Woldemichael (Degiga), the newly elected chairman of the unified Eritrean People’s Democratic Party (EPDP), expresses his deep thankfulness to all compatriots and friends who, through phone calls and various other communication channels, wished him success in the challenging post of leading one of the mainstream Eritrean opposition organizations.
In addition to the solidarity messages and warm wishes expressed by numerous delegates of sister Eritrean organizations that attended the 3rd and unity party congress in Wiesbaden and the Eritrea Festival in Frankfurt, dozens of friends sent messages of good wishes.

Among the well wishers on the election of Tesfai Degiga to lead the party as well as for the success of the EPDP unity and third congress were prominent compatriots like Mr. Ibrahim Mohammed Ali, senior party member in Port Sudan; Mr. Mohammed Nur Ahmed, an old friend in Australia; Dr. Yusuf Berhanu (Holland); Dr. Angesom Atsbaha (USA); Mr. Abdurahman a-Said (Bohashem, UK); Mr. Kubrom Dafla (Holland); Ismael Ali (Holland); Ms Ghenet Tewelde (Switzerland); Mr. Negash Osman (Sweden); Mr. Semere Habtemariam (USA); Mr. Seyoum Tesfaye (USA); Mr. Solomon Assefaw (One Nation, USA); Mr. Hailemariam Tesfai (USA) and many, many other friends of the new chairman and his party.
Veteran and patriotic leader Ibrahim Mohammed Ali told the new chairman on the phone, “Keep high the banner of our struggle for democracy and I know you will succeed!”

Ismail Ali Ahmed, an email via Harnnet.org: My heartfelt words of congratulation to brother Tesfai Woldemichael for assuming the well-deserved chairmanship of the EPDP. This is a man who possesses stature, experience and character to shoulder such high level responsibility at the top of an organization that aspires to play functional role in the affairs of a nation passing through critical travail to survive decades of subjugation under ruthless tyranny.

Abdurahman Sayed (Bohashem – on FB): Tesfai Degiga is a veteran of the liberation struggle and one of the leaders of the on-going pro-democracy movement in Eritrean diaspora. I met him on several occasions in the last ten years and found him to be humble, as is the case with his predecessors and comrades, and dedicated to the struggle for Eritrean salvation alongside his wife, who equally enjoys the same qualities of patriotic resilience. Mr. Tesfai Degiga has a brilliant understanding of the immense benefits and power of non-violent resistance, which I was able to witness during a great presentation he gave. EPDP had a difficult stand in the opposition for believing in this vision, but stayed loyal to it and today, with the U-turns in Ethiopian politics and the revolution in the Sudan, this hugely important political strategy has finally become mainstream.

ብመኸሰብ ዘይብሉ፡ ኤርትራዊ ዲሞክራስያዊ ማሕበርን ኣካላት ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ (ሰዲህኤ) ኣብ ኤውሮጳን ዝሰናዳእ ዓመታዊ ፈስቲቫል ኤርትራዊ፡ ኣብ 2 ክሳብ 4 ነሃሰ 2019 ኣብ ፍራንክፈርት ብዓወት ተጸንቢሉ። ኣብዚ ፈስቲቫል ኤርትራውያን ካብ 9 ሃገራት ኤውሮጳን፡ ካብ ኣወስትራልያ፡ ካብ ሕቡራተ መንግስታት ኣሜሪካን ካናዳን ተሳቲፈምዎ። ናይ ሎምዘመን ፈስቲቫል፡ ነቲ “ድምጽና ኣብ ቃልሲ ድሕነት ህዝብና ምእንቲ ክስማዕ ሓቢርና ነድምጽ” ኣብ ትሕቲ ዝበል መሪሕ ጭረሖ ዝተኻየደ ሓድነታዊ ጉባአ ሰዲህኤን ሃድኤ-ሕድርን ተኸቲሉ ዝተጋበአ እዩ።
እቲ ኣገዳሲ ዛዕባ ናይዚ ንሰለስተ መዓልታት ዝቐጸለ ፈስቲቫል፡ እቲ ብ3 ነሃሰ 2019 ብተሳትፎ፡ ኣሓት ጀርመናዊ ሰልፍታት፡ ወከልቲ ኤርትራዊ ፖለቲካዊ ውድባትን ማሕበራትን፡ መሪሕ ግደ ዝጻወቱ ዘለዉ ኤርትራዊ ሚድያታት፡ ተለቪዥ ኣሰናን ተለቪዥን ኤሪ-ሳትን ዝተሳተፍዎ ናይ ዘተ መኣዲ ነይሩ።
ኣቦ መንበር ኤዲማ፡ ኣወሃህዲ መደባት፡ ምስ ጀርመናውያን ወከልቲ፡ ክዲሕን ነዲሰን ኣብ መድረኽ ፈስቲቫል
ኣብቲ ኣጋጣሚ ብኣተሓባበርቲ መድረኽ፡ ወ/ሮ ኣድያም ተፈራ፡ ኣቶ ግርማይ ዘሚካኤልን ፕረሲደንት ዲማኤ ኣቶ ተስፋማርያም ክብረኣብን ናይ “እንኳዕ ደሓን መጻእኩም” ቃል ቀሪቡ። ኣቶ ተስፋማርያም ክብረኣብ ኣብቲ ኣጋጣሚ ነቶም ወጸዋዕታ ኣኽቢሮም ኣብቲ ኤርትራዊ ፖለቲካውን ባህላውን ፈስቲቫል ዝተሳተፉ፡ ብተሳትፎኦም ሕጉስ ምዃኑ ብምጥቃስ ምስጋናኡ ኣቕሪቡ።
ነቶም ብዝተፈላለዩ ዛዕባታት ኣብ መድረኽ ቃሎም ዘስምዑ ባእታታት ዘርኢስእሊ።
ድሕሪ’ቲ ናይ ምሕዝነትን ምትሕግጋዝን ቃል ወ/ሮ ሉራ ክኒየሪዩ ወኪል ክርስትያናዊ ዲሞክራስያዊ ሕብረትን፡ ወ/ሮ ካተሪና ስቸረይነር ወኪል ነጻ ዲሞክራስያዊ ሕብረትን ዝተፈላለዩ ኣካላትን ምስቶም ወደብቲ እቲ መድረኽ ዘለዎም ምሕዝነትን ክሳብ ውድቀት ገበነኛ ስርዓት ኤርትራ ንክቃለሱ ዘለዎም ድልውነትን ንምግላጽ ዝተፈላለዩ ተዛረብቲ ናብ መድረኽ ተዓዲሞም።
ኣቦመንበራት ናይተን ዝሰመራ ውድባት ዝነበሩን ሓድሽ ኣቦመንበር ሰዲህኤን ኣብ መድረኽ
ኣቦመንበራት ነበር፡ ናይተን ዝሰመራ ኣሓት ውድባት፡ ኣቶ መንግስተኣብ ኣስመሮምን ኣቶ ክፍለዝጊ ገብረመድህንን ብዛዕባቲ መስርሕ ጉባአ ሰፊሕ መደረ ኣብ ልዕሊ ምቕራቦም፡ ነቲ ኣብ ወስባደን ጀርመን ኣብ ዝተኸየደ ጉባአ፡ ዝተወሰነ 12 ነጥብታት ዝሓቖፈ ፖለቲካዊ ውሳነታት እውን ኣንቢበምዎ። ኣብ ርእሲ’ዚ ነቲ ሓድሽ ዝተመርጸ ኣቦመንበር ተስፋይ ወልደሚካኤል (ደጊጋ) ናብ መድረኽ ዓዲመምዎ። ሓድሽ ኣቦመንበር ሰዲህኤ፡ ኣብቲ ናይ ፈስቲቫል መድረኽ፡ ብዛዕባ ኣገዳስነት ሓያል ውዱብ ቃልሲ ጠቒሱ፡ ኤርትራውያን ሓርበኛታት ኣብዚ ናይ ዲሞክራስያዊ ለውጢ ቃልሲ ንክሳተፉ ብትሪ ጸዊዑ።
ኣንበሳደር ዓንደብርሃን ወልደጊዮርጊስ፡ ካብ ኤርትራዊ መድረኽ ኣብቲ ኣጋጣሚ መደረ ኣስሚዑ። ንሱ ኣብቲ መደረኡ ኣብዚ እዋንዚ ናይ ኤርትራውያን ሓይልታት ለውጢ ኣብ ውሽጢ ሃገርን ወጻእን ቀዳምነታት ክኾኑ ዝግበኦም ጉዳያት ኣስፊሩ። ኣቶ ኣቤል ሃይለ ካብ ሓድነት ኤርትራውያን ንፍትሒ (ኤሓፍ) ብወገኑ፡ ምስዚ ሰሚሩ ዘሎ ሰዲህኤን ካለኦት ኣካላትን ኮይኖም ዕምሪ ወጽዓ ኣብ ኤርትራ ንምሕጽጻር ክቃለሱ ዘለዎም ድልዉነት ኣረጋጊጹ። ኣቶ ባህታ ሃይለማርያም ከኣ ብስም እቲ 18 ኤርትራዊ ውድባት ዝሓቒፈ ሃገራዊ ባይቶ ንዲሞክራስያዊ ለውጢ ዝተዳለወ ናይ ምሕዝነት መልእኽቲ ኣንቢቡ። ኣቶ ክብረኣብ ምስግና ድማ ብስም’ቲ 4ተ ውድባት ዝኣባላቱ ኤርትራዊ ሃገራዊ ግንባር (ኤሃግ) ናይ ምሕዝነት መልእኽቱ ኣስሚዑ። ኣቶ የማነ ተስፋይን ብወገኖም ብቕደም ሰዓብ፡ ብስም ህዝባዊ ምጥርናፍ ሽቱትጋርት ቃሎም ኣስሚዖም።
ደጋፊት ዲሞክራስን ኣብ ጉዳይ መሰል ደቂ ኣንስትዮ ዝነጥፋን ወ/ሮ ኣልጋነሽ ገብረን ወ/ሮ ሳልዋ ኑርን ብወገነን፡ ብዛዕባቲ ኣብ መስርሕ ዘሎ ቃልሲ ኤርትራውያን ንዲሞክራሲ ቃለን ኣስሚዐን። ኣቐድም ኣቢላ ከኣ ኣብ ሕቡራት መንግስታት ኣሚሪካ ኣብ ናይ ለውጢ ቃልሲ እትነጥፍ መንእሰይ ኣድያም ሃይለ ሩፋኤል ብወገና ብዛዕባ ህልዊ ኤርትራዊ ቃልስን ዘጋጥሞ ዘሎ ብደሆታትን መሳጢ ቃል ኣስሚዓ።
ካልእ ካብ ናይ ቀዳም መድረኽ ፈስቲቫል፡ ብመስራቲ ሚድያ ኣሰና ኣማኑኤል እያሱ ዝተመርሐ፡ ትምህርታዊ ዘተን ምልውዋጥ ሓሳባትን ነይሩ። ተሰተፈቲ እዚ ዓውደ-ዘተ ምስ ጋዜጠኛ ኣማኑኤል እያሱ፡ (ካብ ጸጋም ናብ የማን) ብርሃነ ደበሱ፡ ክፍለዝጊ ገብረመድህን፡ ኣድያም ተፈራን መንግስተኣብ ስመሮምን እዮም።

Eritrea Festival 2019 in Frankfurt Conducted Colourfully; Addressed by Prominent Figures

Eritrea Festival, an annual event organized by the non-profit Eritrean Democratic Association (EDA) and the Europe Zone of the now unified Eritrean People’s Democratic Party (EPDP), was held in central Frankfurt between 2 and 4 August 2019 attended by Eritreans coming from nine European countries as well as from faraway Australia, the United States, and Canada. This year’s festival, which followed the 3rd and Unity Congress of the EPDP and the Eritrean National Salvation/Hidri, was held under the motto of: “We unite in order to be heard and be effective in the struggle to save our nation.”
The major highlight of the three-day events was the Festival Panel on Saturday, 3 August, which was addressed by sister German parties, representatives of Eritrean political and civic organizations, leading Eritrean mass media persons from Assena TV and Erisat, and old media experts and friends of Eritrea from Sweden.

Welcoming addresses to Festival participants were made in Arabic and Tigrigna by stage moderators, Ms Adiam Teferra and Mr. Ghirmai Zemichael, the president of the EDA, Mr. Tesfamariam Kibreab, who expressed his satisfaction with the positive response of all participants and guest speakers to come to this important annual Eritrean politico-cultural event.

Following solidarity and support speeches by Ms Laura Knieriu, representative of the Green Party and Ms Katherina Schreiner of FDP (the Free Democratic Party), different speakers were invited to the podium to express both their solidarity with the organizers and their resolve to work in unison in order to hasten the fall of the criminal regime in Eritrea.
Outgoing Chairmen of unified organizations and the new EPDP Chairman on Festival Stage
The outgoing chairmen of the now unified sister organizations, Messrs Menghesteab Asmerom and Kiflezghi Ghebremedhin, spoke in great length about the ENS/Hidri-EPDP unity process and read the 12 political resolutions of their congress in Wiesbaden, Germany. They also invited to the stage Mr. Tesfai Woldemichael (Degiga), the newly elected chairman of the EPDP who spoke on the urgency of strengthening organized struggle and made a strong appeal to all compatriots to join the struggle for democratic change.
Ambassador Andebrhan Weldegiorghis of Eri-Platforum talked on the present situation in Eritrea and the Horn of Africa region and listed priority tasks that Eritrean justice seekers at home and abroad should undertake. Mr. Abel Haile of Unity of Eritreans for Justice (UEJ) stressed the commitment to work closely with unified EPDP and others to end repression in Eritrea. Mr. Bahta Hailemariam read the solidarity message on behalf of the 18 organizations in ENCDC (Eritrean National Council for Democratic Change), and Mr. Kibreab Mesghina presented the message from four sister organizations in the Eritrean National Front (ENF). Mr. Yemane Tesfai spoke representing popular assemblies in Stuttgart, respectively. Pro-democracy and women’s rights activists, Ms Alganesh Ghebre and Ms Salwa Nur, made important interventions on the ongoing Eritrean struggle for democracy. Earlier, young pro-democracy mass media activist and EPDP, Adiam Haile Rufael from USA presented a lively speech on the current struggle and the challenges facing it.
