ጨንፈር ኖርወይ ብዕለት 14 ጥቕምቲ 2017፣ 7ይ ስሩዕ ጉባኤኡ ኣብ ከተማ ኦስሎ ብዓወት ኣካይዱ። ጉባኤ ጨንፈር ኣብ ቲሕቲ ሓቢርና ንስራሕ ክነድምዕ፣ ሓቢርና ነድምጽ ክነስምዕ! ዝብል ጭርሖ እዩ ተኻይዱ። ኣብዚ ንመበል 7ይ ግዜ ዝተጋበአ ጨንፈራዊ ጉባኤ ምስ ሓያለይ ካብ ርሑቕን ቀረባን ዝመጹ ኣባላት ጨንፈር ክልተ ኣባላት ፈጻሚት ሽማገለ ሰልፊ ተጋደላይ ተስፋይ ወልደሚካኤል ሓላፊ ወደባዊ ጉዳያትን ብጻይ መድሃኔ ሃብተዝጊ ሓላፊ ጉዳያት መንእሰያትን ተረኺቦም ነይሮም።
ጉባኤ ብዝኽረ ሰማዕታት ድሕሪ ምጅማር፣ ኣቦ መንበር ጨንፈር ብጻይ ማሕደር ዕቁባዝጊ ኣብ ምኽፋት ናይቲ ጉባኤ ፍሉይ ናይ ዕንቋዕ ብደሓን መጻእካ ሰላምታ ንተጋደላ ተስፋይ ወልደሚካኤል ብምቅዳም፣ ንኹሎም ተጋባእቲ እውን ናይ እንቋዕ ብደሓን መጻእኩምን እንቋዕ ናብ መበል 7ይ ጉባኤ ኣብቐዓናን ቃል ኣስሚዑ፣ ጉባኤ ብዕሊ ከፊቱ።
ኣስዒቡ’ውን ኣቦ መንበር ናይ ዕለቱ ኣጀንዳታት ድሕሪ ምሕባር፣ ጨንፈር ኖርወይ ካብ ዝምስረት ኣትሒዙ ካሳብ ሎሚ ንቋዋማዊ መደባቱ ብንጥፈት እንዳ ኣሰላሰል፣ ካብ ውሽጢ ሰልፊ ኮነ ካብ ደገ ንሓድነት ሰልፊ ኽበታትን ንዝደናደን ወስታታው እውን ብጽንዓት እንዳ መከተ ዝኸይድ ዘሎ ጨንፈር ምዃኑ ገሊጹ። ድሕሪ 2ይ ጉባኤ ሰልፊ ንሓድነትና ክዘርግ ንዝሃቐነ ተሪእዮታት፣ ጨንፈር ኖርወይ ብትሪ ከምዝኹንኖ ሓቢሩ፣ ንምምካቱ መሪሕነት ሰልፊ ንዝኽተሎ ሕጋውን ልቦና ዝመልኦ ኣገባብን እውን መጎሱ ገሊጹ።
ዋና ጸሓፊ ጨንፈር ብጻይ ኸሊፋ ዓብደላ፣ ካብ 6ይ ክሳብ 7ይ ጉባኤ ጨንፈር ንዝተዓሙ ፖለቲካዊ፣ ማሕበረሰብኣዊ፣ ዲፕሎማስያዊ መደባት ኣመልኪቱ ሰፊሕን ዝርዝራውን ጸብጻብ ኣቕሪቡ። ንሱ ኣብ ጸብጻባቱ ጨንፈር ኖርወይ ኣብ ዘካየዶ ፖለቲካዊ መደባት ኣብ ውሽጢ ኖርወይ ጥራይ ከይተደረተ፣ ኣብቲ ከቢድ ባጀትን ግዜን ዝሓትት ኣብ ካብ ኖርወይ ወጻኢ ብደረጃ ዞባ ኤውሮጳን ስካንዲነቭያን ኣብ ዝተኻየደ መደባት ሰልፊ እውን እንተኾነ ብንጥፈት ከምዝተሳተፈ፣ ምስ ፖለቲካዊ መደባቱ ድርብ ናይ ማሕበራዊ ጉዳያት ሓላፍነት ብምስካም እውን ኣብ መደባት ሓገዝ ናይ ርሑቕ ወላድን ኣካለ ጽጉማንን ዕዙዝ ኣበርክቶ ከምዝገበረ ሓቢሩ። ኣብ ዲፕሎማስያዊ ጉዳያት ጨንፈር ኖርወይ ብቀዳምነት ምስ ኣብ ከባቢ ዝርከቡ ፖለቲካውያንን በርገሳውያንን ማሕበራት ሓቢርካ ምስራሕ ቀዳምነት ሂቡ ብተወፋይነት ክሰርሓሎ ዝጸንሐ ጉዳይ ምዃኑ ሓቢሩ፣ ተዓዊትና ኣብ ዝበሃለሉ ደረጃ ዋላ እንተዘይተበጽሐ ዘተስፉ ውጺእት ከምዘሎ ግን ሓቢሩ።
ቀጺሉ ተሓዝ ገንዘብን ንብረትን ጨንፈር ብጻይ ሙሴ ዓማር፣ ንምጣኔ ሃብታዊ ጸብጻባቱ ኣብ ናይ ሰልፍን ጨንፈርን ወገናት ከፋፊሉ ብዝርዝር ኣቕሪቡ። ብምቕጻል ተሳተፍቲ ጉባኤ ብኽልቲኡ ሸነኻት ኣብ ዝቐረበ ጸብጻባት ተመያዪጦም።
ስዒቡ ንጉባኤን ከይዲ መረጻ መሪሕነትን እትመሪሕ 3 ዝኣባላታ ሰክረታር ጉባኤ ብደሞክራስያዊ ኣገባብ ተመሪጻ። መስርሕ መረጻ እውን እንተኾነ ብደሞክራስያዊ ኣገባብ ተኻይዱ። ኣብ መወዳእታ ብመሰረት ቁዋም ሰልፊ 3 ሽማገለ ጨንፈርን 2 ተጠባበቕትን ዘለውዋ መሪሕነት ጨንፈር ቆይማ።
ቀጺሉ መድረኽ ንኣቦ መንበር ውደባዊ ጉዳያት ሰልፊ ተጋደላይ ተስፋይ ወልደሚካኤል ተዋሂቡ። ተጋደላይ ተስፋይ ኣብ ናይ ኖርወይ ብጽሖቱ ዝተሰምዖ ደስታ ድሕሪ ምግላጽ፣ ጨንፈር ኖርወይ ብኹሉ መዳይ ካብቶም ሰልፊ ዝሕበነሎም፣ ኣዕሙድ ሰደህኤ ዝኾኑ ጨናፍር ሓደ ምዃኑ ሓቢሩ።
ኣስዒቡ ተጋደላይ ተስፋይ፣ ኣብ ጽባሕ 2ይ ጉባኤ ሰልፊ ተጋደላይ መስፍን ሓጎስ ዝወሰዶ ካብ መሪሕነት ናይ ምስሓብ ስጉምትን፣ ምስ መሪሕነት ሰልፊ ዝፈጠሮ ምስሕሓብን፣ ምስኡ ብምትእስሳር ኣብ ዞባ ሰሜን ኣመሪካ ብገለ ኣባላት መሪሕነት ዞባ ሰሜን ኣመሪካ ነበር ተፈጢሩ፣ ኣብ ጉዕዞ ሰልፊ ዕንቅፋት ኮይኑ ንዝጸንሐ ጸገማትን ብዝምልከት ንኣባላት ዝርዝራዊ መብሪሂ ሂቡ። ምስዚ ወሲኹ ብጻይ ተስፋይ፣ ካብቲ ካብ መሪሕነት ሰልፊ ናይ ምስሓብን መሰረት ዘይብሉ ክስታትን ናይ መስፍን ሓጎስ ኣትሒዙ፣ ክሳብዚ ኣብ መወዳእታ ኣብ ዞባ ሰሜን ኣመሪካ ብገለ መሪሕነት ዞባ ነበር ተፈጢሩ ንዝጸንሐ ጸገማትን እውን ከይተረፈ፣ መሪሕነት ሰልፊ ንናይ ምርድዳእን ልዝብን ኣገባባት ቀዳምነት ሂቡ ድሕሪ ምፍታን፣ ንሱ ክዕወት ምስ ዘይከኣለ እዩ፣ ቁዋም ሰልፊ ተኸቲሉ መዕለቢ ክገብረሎም ከምዝተገደድ ኣብሪሁ። ኣብዚ እዋንዚ ድማ መሪሕነት ሰልፊ ኣብ መደባት ምሕዳስ ሰልፍን እማመ ሓባራዊ ስራሕ ምስ ኤርትራውያን ደለይቲ ፍትሒ ማሕበራትን ኣተኲሪ ይሰርሕ ከምዘሎ ሓቢሩ።

ሓላፊ ውደባዊ ጉዳያት ብጻይ ተስፋይ መድረኽ ተቀቢሉ ድሕሪ ሰላምታ ንተሳተፍቲ ኣኼባ፣ ኣባላትን ዘይኣባላትን ሰልፊ ዝኾና ገዳይም ሓደስትን ተቓለስቲ ኣብ ከምዚ ዓይነት ኣኼባ ምርኻብና ዓቢ ጸጋ ጥራይ ዘይኮነስ፣ ፈጺምና ብምልኪ ከምዘይተሰዓርና ዝሕብር ኣጋጣሚ እዩ ክብል መደረኡ ጀሚሩ። ኣስዒቡ ደጊጋ፣ ሎሚ ዳርጋ ኩሉ ኤርትራዊ ዜጋ ብጉዳይ ሃገሩ ድቃስ ብምስኣን ኣብ ሻቕሎት ይነበር ኣሎ፣ ምኽንያቱ ኩልና ኣብቲሕቲ ዘየደቕስ ሃገራውን ሓባራውን ሽግራት ስለእንርከብ ኢሉ። ኩነታት ሃገርና ንኹሉ ርዱእ ብምዃኑ ኣሰተምህሮ ምሃብ ዘድልዩ ጉዳይ እኳ እንተኾነ፣ ግን ገለ ዝያዳ ምዝኽኻር ዘድልዮም ነገራት ኣሎዉ ብምባል፣ መላእ ሃገር ንሊዕሊ 26 ዓመታት ኣብ ቲሕቲ ናይ ሓደ ሰብ ምልኪ ትርከብ ምህላዋ፣ ዝሰርሕ መንግስታዊ ትካላትን ኣካላትን ዘይብላ ምዃና፣ ዜጋታት ብሃንደባት ብዘይተፈልጠ ኣገባብን ዝስወሩላ፣ ቅያ ሰሪሑ ነጻነቱ ዝረጋገጸ ህዝቢ ብመራሕቱ ዝተጠልመላ ሃገር ብምዃና፣ ብቁዋም ሃገርን ብሃገራዊ ሕግታትን ዘይኮነስ ብናይ ሓደ ሰብ ኣዋጃትን ሕጋዊ ምልክታታትን እትምራሕ ሃገር ኣላትና።
ነዚ ኩነታትዚ መኪትናን በዲህናን ኣብ ክንዱኡ ኣብ ሃገርና ሰላምን ፍትሕን ደሞክራስን ክነስፍን በቢ ዝመስለናን እንኣምነሉን ኣገባብ ቃልሲ ተወዲቡ እንቓለስ ክፋል ህዝብና ብምዃና፣ ዘሐብነና ጉዳይ ኮይኑ፣ ተዋሃሂድና ብምስራሕ ቅልጽምና ኣደልዲልና፣ ድሕነት ህዝብናን ሃገርናን ክነቀላጥፍ ዘይምብቓዕና ግን ገለ ካብ ድኽመታትና እዩ ኢሉ።
ንደለይቲ ፍትሒ ዝኾና ሓይልታት ኣብ ደያስፖራ ናይ ምውህሃድ ፈተነታትውን ብተደጋጋሚ ክካየድኳ እንተ ጸንሐ ክሳብ ሕጂ ዕዉታት ኮና ኣይተረኽብናን። ኣብዚ እዋንዚ እንተኾነውን ፈተነታት ንሓድነትን ሓባራዊ ስራሕ ደለይቲ ፍትሒ ሓይልታት ቀጻሊ ይካየድ ምህላዉ ገሊጹ፣ ኣብዚ ቀረባ እዋን ብመድረኽ ኣብ ከተማ ፍራንክፎርት ጀርመን፣ ኣብ ኢትዮጵያ ብዝተፈላለዩ ኣባላት ሃገራዊ ባይቶ ዝኾኑ ውድባት ይካየድ ከምዘሎን ብተወሳኺ ሰልፊ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ እውን ናቱ ናይ ሓባራዊ ስራሕ እማመ ኣዳልዩ ንተቀባልነቱን ትግባረኡን ብንጥፈት ይሰርሕ ከምዘሎ ሓቢሩ። ራእን ትሕዝቶን ናይዚ እማመ ሓባራዊ ሰራሕ እውን ብዝርዝር ኣብሪሁ።
ድሕሪ እኹል መብሪሂ ብተጋደላይ ተስፋይ፣ ንሊዕሊ 2 ሰዓታት ቀጺሉ ሕጽረት ግዜ ዝኾለፎ መድረኽ ሕቶን መልስን፣ ሪኢቶታትን ለበዋን ቀጺሉ።

- በብእዋኑ ንዝቅልቐል ዓንቃፊ ተርእዮታት ኣይተድህቡሉ ሓደራ፣ ከድክመኩም እንተዘይኮይኑ ኣይከሐይለኩምን እዩ፣ ዝብልን ካልእን ነይሩ።

EPDP Delegation Asks Norwegian Party to Support Eritrean Pro-Democracy Forces

A delegation of the Eritrean People's Democratic Party (EPDP) on 12 October met in Oslo with a senior official of the Norwegian Labour Party (Arbeiderpartiet), which is the country's largest political formation, and strongly appealed for timely support in unifying and strengthening Eritrean forces struggling for democratic change in their country.
Led by Mr. Tesfai Woldemichael (Degiga), of the EPDP Organizational Office, the delegation included Mr. Medhanie Habtezghi, head of EPDP Youth Affairs; Mr. Osman Jaber, representative of the Foreign Affairs Office; Mr. Khalifa Abdalla, branch secretary, and Mr. Mussie Amar, in charge of Norway branch finances and property.
The delegation members spoke in great length to describe the appalling situation of the Eritrean people, both inside the country and in exile, caused by an extremely repressive one-man dictatorship that reversed the great expectations Eritreans and their friends had 26 years ago in the future of an independent Eritrea.
After recounting efforts being made inside Eritrea and abroad by political and civil associations and movements seeking democratic change in Eritrea, Mr. Tesfai Degiga and his delegation members recognized Norway's historical relations with the Eritrean people and appealed for their support in those efforts for democratic change.
On his part, the senior Norwegian Labour Party official confirmed his party's sympathies and close follow up of the Eritrean situation, and thanked EPDP for the continued flow of information on Eritrean developments. It is to be noted that both the Arbeiderpartiet and the EPDP are founding members of the Progressive Alliance at whose frequent conferences meet delegations of both parties.
Mr. Tesfai Degiga is currently on a mission to Norway where he is meeting fraternal groups and compatriots. He is also scheduled to hold a public meeting in Oslo on 14 October.

ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ከቢድ ሃገራዊ ሓላፍነት ብምስካም፣ ንህዝቢ ኤርትራ ወዲቡን ጠርኒፉን ብምቅላስን፣ ምስ ህዝቢ ዓለም ተሓባቢሩን ነዚ ናይ ምልኪ ስርዓት ብደሞክራስያዊ ስርዓት ብምትካእ፣ ንህዝብናን ሃገርናን ካብ ምልካዊ ምሕደራ ናብ ደሞራስያዊ ምሕደራ ክሰጋግር፣ ካብ ዝምስረት ክሳብ ሕጂ ረዚን ሃገራዊ ሓላፍነት ተሸኪሙ ዝቃለስ ሰልፊ ምዃኑ ኣብሪሁ። ሰልፊ ደሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ንምውህሃድን ሓባራዊ ስራሕን ደምበ ደለይቲ ፍትሒ ከም ቀዳማይ ሰጉምቲ ጉዕዞ ዓወትና ገይሩ ብምውሳድ፣ ዝተፈላለዩ ናይ ሓድነትን ሓባራዊ ስራሕን እማመታት ኣዳልዩ የነጥፈሉ ከምዘሎ ብምሕባር፣ እዚ መደባት እዚ ዕዉት ኮይኑ ንኽርከብ ግን ምስ ሰፊሕ ተሳትፎ ህዝብና እንተላይ ደገፍ ህብረተሰብ ዓለምናንውን ከምዘድሊ ኣተሓሳሲቡ። ብተወሳኺ ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ከም መስራቲ ኣባል ኣህጉራዊ ምሕዝነት ገስገስቲ ሓይልታት (Progressive Alliance) ኣብ ኣህጉራዊ መድረኽ ተርኡ ክዓምም ምዃኑ ኣረጋጊጹ። መንግስቲ ኖርወይን ሰልፊ ዕዮ ኖርወይን እውን ኣብ ኤርትራ ነባሪ ፍታሕ ንኽመጽእ ኣብዚ ንደምበ ተቃውሞ ኣብ ምውህሃድን ምጥርናፍን ይካየድ ኣብ ዘሎ ጻዕሪ ልዑል ታራ ክጻወቱ ኣተሓሳሲቡ።
ነዚ ልኡኽ እዚ ተቀቢሉ ዘዘራረበ ሓላፊ ወጻኢ ጉዳያት ናይቲ ሰልፊ ዝኾነ ኣቶ ኦድ-ኢንገ ከቫልሀይም ( Mr. Odd-Inge Khvalheim) ብወገኑ፣ ብቃልሱ ናጽነቱን ልዑላውነቱን ዘረጋገጸ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ካብ ጽባሕ ናጽነቱ ኣትሒዙ ክሳብ ሕጂ ኣብ ከምዚ ናይ ምብትታን ኩነታት ክርከብ ናይ ብሓቂ ካብቶም ንሰልፍናን መንግስትናን ንህዝቢ ዓለምን ካብ ዘሻቅሉ ኩነተት እዩ። እታ ናይ ደሞክራስያዊ ምሕደራን ቅልጡፍ ምዕባለን ኣብነታዊት ሃገር ክትከውን እያ ተባሂላ ብህዝቢ ዓለም ዓቢ ተስፋ ዝተነብረላ ኤርትራውን፣ ሎሚ ኣብ ከምዚ ኩነታት ክትርከብ ናይ ብሓቂ ዘሕዝን እዩ። ሰልፊ ዲሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ እተካይድዎ ንዘሎኹም ዘይሕለል ኣተስፋዊ ጻዕርታት፣ ብምብጻሕኩም ጥራይ ዘይኮነስ በቲ በቢእዋኑ ቤት ጽሕፈት ወጻኢ ጉዳያት ናይ ሰልፍኹም ዝሰደልና ኢመይላት ንከታተል ኢና። ዓወት ንምነየልኩም። ብወገነይ ንኩነታት ሃገርኩምን ህዝብኹምን፣ ንምብጻሕኩምን ኣብ ናይ ሰልፍና ኣኼባታት ከም ዛዕባ ተላዒሉ ክረአ ዓቅመይ ክገብር እየ። ንስኹም ግን ናይ ካልኦት ደገፍን ተመኩሮን ንኽትረኽቡ ጻዕርታትኩም ኣይተቋርጹ፣ ንኣሕዋት ዝኾኑ ህዝብታት ኤርትራን ኢትዮጵያን እውን ካብዚ ናይ ነዊሕ ግዜ ኣይሰላም ኣይ ውግእ ኩነታት ወጺኦም፣ ኣብቲ ናይ ቀደም ሰላማውን ሕውነታውን ጉርብትና ተመሊሶም ንኽንርእዮም ተስፋ እገብር ክብል ሰናይ ድሌቱ ገሊጹ።

ናይ ቅድም ከንቲባ ላፓዱሳ ወ/ሮ ጊዩሲ ኒኮሊኒ፡ ብዩኒቨርስቲ ጀነቫ “ላፓዱሳ ማእከል ቅልውላው ስደተኛታት” ኣብ ትሕቲ ዝብል ኣርእስቲ ኣብ ዝተዳለወ ሰሚና ብ11 ጥቅምቲ 2017 ንልዕሊ 600 ተሳተፍቲ ቃል ኣስሚዐን። ንሰን ኣብቲ ዘስመዐኦ ቃል፡ ነቲ ኣቐንዛውን ኤውሮጳ ስጉምቲ ክትወስድ ዘበራበረን ኣሰቃቒ ተረኽቦ ላምፓዱሳ “ኣይርሰዖን እየ” ኢለን።
ንሰን ኣተሓሒዘን ቤት ጽሕፈተን ንዝኽሪቶ’ም ዳርጋ ኩሎም ኤርትራውያን ዝኾኑ ግዳያት 366 ፈልሲ ኣእዋም ተኺሉ ኢለን። ዕላማ ናይዚ ኣእዋም ምትካል ከኣ ነባሪ እታ ከተማ ነቶም ግዳያት ምእንቲ ክዝክሮም ምዃኑ ጠቒሰን፡ እዚ ካልእ ዝኽሪ ንሰብኣዊ መሰላት ክኸውን ንከኽእል ዘለወን ተስፋ’ውን ጠቒሰን።

እዘን ናይ ቅድም ከንቲባ ላምፓዲሳ ኤውሮጳ ተዘክሮኣ ኣብ ልዕሊ ኣይሁድ ዝወረደን ኣብ ግዜ ናዚ ቅድሚ 70 ዓመታት ኣብ ልዕሊ ውሁዳን ዝተወስደ ስጉምትን ትርስዕ ኣላ ኢለን። ከምኡ’ውን ዝኾነ ስደተኛ ብእኩብ ዘይኮነ ብውልቁ ብሰብኣውነት ክተሓዝ ይግበኦ ኢለን።
እዘን ወይዘሮ ካብ 2012 ጀሚረን ናይታ 6 ሺሕ ነበርቲ ዘለዉዋ ከተማ ላምፓዱሳ ከንቲባ ኮይነን ኣገልጊለን። ኣብ ናይ 2017 ምርጫ ግና ብሰንኪ ኣብ ስደተኛታት ዘርኣየኦ ሓልዮትን ተወፋይነትን ክምረጻ ኣይከኣላን። እንተኾነ ዋላኳ እንተዘይተመርጻ ናይቶም 300 ሺሕ ዝኾኑ ኣብ ማያት ላምፓዱሳ ዝደሓኑ ስደተኛታት ዓርክን ከንቲባን ክኾና ምኽኣለን ከም ዘሕጉሰን ገሊጸን። ንሰን ከም ዝበለኦ ላምፓዱሳ ዘርኣየቶ ሰብኣውነትን ልግስን ካለኦት’ውን ከምኣ ንክኾኑ ጽልዋ ኣሕዲሩ እዩ።
ኣብዚ ዝሓለፈ 20 ዓመት ክሳብ 20 ሺሕ ሰባት ኣብማያት ባሕሪ ሚዲተራንያን ከም ዝጠፍኡ ይግመት። ካብዚኦም ብዙሓት ግና ድማ ቁጽሮም ብትኽክል ዘይተፈልጠ ኤርትራውያን እዮም።

Former Lampedusa Mayor Pays Tribute to Over 360 Eritrean Victims of October 2013 Tragedy

Addressing a Geneva University seminar entitled "Lampedusa, at the Core of Migration Crisis", the former mayor of Lampedusa, Ms Giusi Nicolini, said to an audience of over 600 attendants Wedenesday evening, 11 October, that she "will never ever forget" the painful Lampedusa tragedy of 3 October 2013 that awakened Europe to act.
She said her office planted 366 trees for those victims in Lampedusa, almost all of them Eritreans, in order to keep them in the islanders' collective memories and she hoped the rest of humanity will not forget such painful happenings easily.
Ms Nicolini did not hide her fear of the "growing indifference" in Europe and elsewhere to the suffering of fellow human beigns. She however reminded the heavier burden of today by copmaring the the caseload of one million refugees after World War II to that that of today which is over 60 million.
Ex-Mayor Nicolini further stated that "Europe lost its memory" of what has happened to Jews and other minorities in Nazi Germany seven decades ago, and reminded that every refugee and migrant must be treated humanely and as an individual entity, not as a "collective mass".
She served as the Mayor for the 6,000 inhabitants of Lampedusa since 2012 but recently lost the 2017 re-relection because of her commitment to the human rights of refugees and migrants. However, Ms Nicolini said she is proud of remaining a friend and mayor in the hearts and minds of the estimated 300,000 refugees and migrants who were saved in the waters of Lampedusa during her term of office. The humanity and kindness Lampedusans showed to migrants has influenced others to do the same, she added.
It is estimated that during the last two decades, well over 20,000 persons perished in the Mediterranean Sea, including a big, but yet unknown, number of Eritreans.
Preceding the powerful presentation of ex-Mayor Nicolini, the dean of the University, Professor Yves Fluckinger, and Mr. F. Longchamp, President of the Republic and Caonton of Geneva, spoke on the current migrantion problems and the need to champion human rights amidst all the moves to the contrary.
The weeklong seminar organized by the University of Geneva will be addressed on Thursday, 12 October, by Mr Felipe Gonzales Morales, the newly designated Rapporteur for Human Rights of Migrants.
Newly Elected EPDP Executive Team Drafts Action Tasks for the Year Ahead

Under the chairmanship of party head, Mr. Mengesteab Asmerom, the newly elected 9-person Executive Committee of the Eritrean People's Democratic Party (EPDP) met on Saturday, 7 October 2017, and finalized drafting action plans to be implemented by the offices in close conjunction with the rank-and-file of the party during the coming 12 months. The drafts, based on general guidelines given by the Central Council, will be put into effect as soon as they revised and approved by the Central Council.
This EC regular meeting was the first since the body was elected on 17 September by the 8th regular meeting of the Central Council. The EPDP elects/re-elects its executive body every 12 months.
The EC meeting also pinpoints the priority tasks for the party during the coming few months. These will include meetings for party members as well as the general public, and intensive contacts with political and civic organizations struggling for democratic change in Eritrea.
Likewise, the meeting explored developments affecting Eritrea and its people, both at home and abroad, and took conclusions on every issue it discussed. Among the issues considered at the meeting was the pointless babble of a minuscule group that pointlessly attempted to question the legitimate actions and decisions of the party leadership and described those futile attempts as irresponsible and devoid of any basis whatsoever.
At concluding its meeting the Executive Committee renewed its strong appeal on party members and friends of the party to redouble their efforts in promoting every aspect of EPDP's work plans for the common good.

Former Iraqi President Talabani Was High Eritrea Admirer and Friend of Late Osman Saleh Sabbe W. Ammar

Mr. Jalal Talabani, former Iraqi President and co-founder of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), has passed away in a Berlin hospital on 3 October 2017 at the age of 83. He was a high admirer of the Eritrean struggle for national independence, and friend of the Eritrean patriot, Osman Saleh Sabbe. Today, both EPDP and Talabani's PUK are members of the Progress Alliance formed in 2013. At this solemn moment, the EPDP extends its sympathies and condolences to the PUK and the bereaved family of this promiment Kurdish-Iraqi leader. May his soul rest in peace.
In the mid-1990s, I (the writer of this brief note) had the opportunity of meeting Mr. Talabani at a number of official and non-official occasions in the major Kurdish citie
s of Erbil and Suleimaniya and his childhood village outside the city of Suleimaniya. And every time, Mr. Talabani would shout : "Wolde Ammar over here" and he would insist that I take a seat beside him so that we could take some time "to talk more about the wonderful Eritrea." (At that time, every friend expected Eritrea to become a model state for the entire region.)
Dinner & chat with Mr. Talabani. When we celebrated Eritrea's accession to statehood in May 1993, Mr. Talabani was represented at our party by his representative in Suleimaniya City.
Mr. Talabani highly admired the tenacity of Eritreans in a difficult struggle, and he repeatedly attested that the Eritrean struggle was a good example to be emulated by the Kurdish people. Mr. Talabani knew closely the late Osman Saleh Sabbe and said he learned many lessons from him in building friendships for national struggles without reliable friends.
It is highly probable that his remains will be taken for burial in Suleimaniya,Iraqi Kurdistan.

Mr. Jalal Talabani was one of the country’s most powerful and unifying leaders and a man who spent much of his life fighting for the cause of the Kurds of northern Iraq. He had long struggled with his health and was often treated abroad. In 2008, he underwent heart surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. He suffered a stroke in 2012 and stepped down as president in 2014. He was elected to the Iraqi presidency three times. As a Kurd, Mr. Talabani was the first non-Arab president of an Arab nation.
A good-humored, portly man with a soft smile and a mustache, Mr. Talabani was nonetheless a pragmatic and savvy political operator who knew when to play down his fervent Kurdish nationalism. He had been a frequent emissary to world capitals for the Kurdish people before and after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in the U.S.-led invasion of 2003.
He was popularly known as Mam Jalal, Kurdish for Uncle Jalal, a nickname ascribed to him in his youth because of his seriousness and that later reflected the affection of his supporters and even some political rivals.
Many in Iraq have wondered whether the crisis would have occurred if Mr. Talabani had still been active in politics. At the very least, they said, he might have been able to defuse it. At various moments in the nation’s turbulent history, he was able to bring Iraq’s warring factions to the negotiating table.
Before his death, Mr. Talabani was trying to mediate a deepening political crisis among Iraq’s three main groups — Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds — who are all embroiled in a contest for power and territory more than six years after the departure of U.S. troops.
From an early age, he showed a revolutionary streak, founding the underground Kurdish Student Union when he was 13.
By 1961, he began to focus solely on the cause of Kurdish resistance against the Iraqi government. Mr. Talabani was a battlefront commander and led separatist movements in several Kurdish regions. When not on the front lines, he traveled on numerous diplomatic missions, becoming the face of Kurdish resistance to Europeans and across the Middle East. Mr. Talabani helped build a political footprint in the new Iraq.

3 ጥቅምቲ 4ይ ዓመት ናይቲ ኣብ ባሕሪ ላምፓዱዛ ዝያዳ 360 ኤርትራውያን ዝሃለቕሉ ዝኽሪ ምዃኑ ረሲዕናዮ ዲና? ኣብቲ ግዜቲ ንሕና ኮነ ዓለም ሰንቢዳ እያ። እቲ ኣብ ኣስመራ ዘሎ ገበነኛ ገዛኢ ግና ኣይገደሶን። ነቶም ግዳያት ኤርትራውያን ክንሶም “ገለ ኣፍሪቃውያን ስደተኛታት” እዩ ኢልዎም።
እዚ ናይ ላምፓዱዛ ህልቂት ብዙሓት ማሕበራትን ውድባትን ንክምስረታ ምኽንያት ኮይኑ እዩ። (ከም ኣብነት፡ ባርነት ይወገድ ኣብ ኤውሮጳ፡ ኮሚተ ዶ/ር ተወልደ ቫካሮ፡… ወዘተ)። ከምቲ ናይ 1971 ህልቂት ዕና-በሲክድራ ኣብ ክልተ መዓልታት ከባቢ ሓደ ሺሕ ሰባት ዝሃለቕሉ እሞ በቲ ዘጋጠመ ህልቂት ዝሓረቑ ኤርትራውያን መንእሰያት ኣብ ኤውሮጳን ሰሜን ኣሜሪካን “ኤርትራውያን ንናጽነት” ዝተባህለ ምንቅስቓስ ንምምስራት ዝተላዕልሉ ማለት እዩ።
ካብቶም 368 ኤርትራውያን ግዳያት ላምፓዱዛ፡ ሄለንን ደቃ፡ ኢስሮም፡ ደሊናን ቢለንን ይርከብዎም
ድሕሪ 4 ዓመታት ኣሰቃቒ ዝኽሪ ላምፓዱዛ ኤርትራውያን ከም ቀሊል ጉዳይ ዝወሰድዎ ይመስሉ። እቲ ብናይዚ ኩሉ ኣብ ኤርትራ ዝረአ ዘሎ ኣሕዛኒ ኩነታት ዝሕተት ገበነኛ ጉጅለ፡ ኣብ ኤርትራ ኣራጢጡ ምህላዉ ጥራይ ዘይኮነ፡ ልዕልና ክረክብ ዝደናደን ዘሎ እዩ። ኣብዚ እዋንዚ ኤርትራዊ ተቓወምቲ፡ ምንቅስቓሳትን ማሕበራትን ኣብ ወጻኢ ዝተሓተ ግምት ዝህብዎ እዮም ዝመስሉ።
ድሕሪ ተረኽቦ ህልቂት ላምፖደዛ ሕብረት ኤውሮጳ ህጹጽ ስጉምቲ ወሲዱ እዩ። ክሳብ ሕጂ’ውን ኣብ ሴሜናዊ ገማግም ባሕሪ መዲትራንያን ሞት ጠጠው ንምባል ጻዕሩ ቀጻሊ ኣሎ። እንተኾነ ነቲ ተረኽቦ ከም ቀሊል ነገር ክወስድዎን እቲ ናይቲ ጉዳይ መሰረታዊ ጠንቂ ንከይጽናዕ ስቕ ኢሎም ክርእይዎን ጀሚሮም ኣለዉ። ብኣንጻሩ ነቲ ብኢሳያስ ኣፈወርቂ ዝምራሕ ገበነኛ ጉጅለ ናይ ምሕያል ዝንባለ ከም ሜላ ይረአ ኣሎ። እንተኾነ ከምቲ ናይ 3 ጥቅምቲ ኣሰቃቒ ተረኽቦ ላምፓዱዛ ቀጻሊ ኣሎ።
ድሕሪ ናይ ላምፓዲዛ ኣሰቃቒ ተረኽቦ ዝተመስረተ ትካል፡ “መደብ ዝጠፍኡ ስደተኛታት” ይበሃል። እንተኾነ እዚ ኣካል ኤርትራውያን ግዳያት ክንደይ ምዃኖም’ኳ ኣየነጸረን። ኣብ ክንዳኡ ናብ 2000 ተመሊሱ ኣብ ዝሓለፉ 17 ዓመታት ግዳይ ባሕሪ ዝኾኑ ሰባት 46 ሺሕ ምዃኖም ይጠቅስ።
ንሕና ኤርትራውያን’ውን ኣብ መዓሙቕ ባሕርን ምድረበዳን ዝሃለቑ ኤርትራውያን ኣዝዮም ብዙሓት ምዃኖም ንርደእ፡ እንተኾነ ክሳብ ሕጂ ብንጹር ናይ ዝሞቱን ዝጠፍኡን ንጹር ቁጽሪ ክንፈልጥ ኣይከኣልናን። ኣብ 2013 ኣብ ባሕሪ ሚዲተራንያን ግዳያት ዝኾኑ ሰባት 600 እዮም። ካብዚ ኣሃዝ ኤርትራውያን ካብ ክልተ ሲሶ ዘይውሕዱ ምንባሮም ፍሉጥ እዩ።. ባሕሪ መዲተራንያን ኣብ 2014፡ 3, 279 ህይወት ቀዚፉ። ኣብ 2015፡ 3, 700 ህይወት በሊዑ፡ ኣብ 2016 ዝያዳ 3,500 ህይወት ወሲዱ ኣብ 2017 ከኣ ልዕሊ 2,654 ሰባት ኣጥፊኡ። እንተኾነ ካብዚኦም አርትራውያን ክንደይ ምዃኖም ኣይንፈልጥን ኢና።
ናይቶም ብዙሕ ዝተዘርበሎም ግዳያት ላምፓዱዛ ኣስከሬን ኣብ ትሕቲ መሬት እዩ ተቐሚጡ ዘሎ። ናይ መብዛሕትኦም መንነት’ውን ኣይተነጸረን። ኣብዚ ዝሓለፈ 4 ዓመታት እውን ብዙሕ ሬሳታት ተወሲኽዎም እዩ። ንሕና ግና ኣይኮነንዶ ሓቢርና ነቲ ጉዳይ ጠጠው ከነብል ክንበቅዕ ቁጽሪ ዝሞቱ ወገናትና ብትኽክል ክንፈልጥ’ኳ ኣይከኣልናን።
ጳጳስ ፍራንሲስ ንኤርትራውያን ህሉዋት ኣብ ላምፓዱዛ እንዳጸናንዑ።
ሓቢርካ ምስራሕን ሓቢርካ ምድማጽን መፍቲሒ ኩሉ ሃገራዊ ሽግራትና እዩ! ነዝን ካልእን ብዝምልከት ልኡኽ ሰልፊ ደሞክራሲ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ተጋደላይ ተስፋይ ወልደሚካኤል/ደጊጋ/ ኣቦ መንበር ቤት ጽሕፈት ውደባዊ ጉዳያት ኣብ ከተማ ኦስሎ፣ ኖርወይ ንህዝቢ ሰፊሕ መብሪሂ ክህብ እዩ።

On 4th Year of Lampedusa, Deaths Continue While Eritreans Bodies Remain in Underground Vaults

Did we already forget? Today, 3rd October, is the 4th anniversary of the Lampedusa tragedy in the Mediterranean Sea in which over 360 Eritrean lives perished. We were shocked, and the world too - of course except the criminal regime in Asmara that called our death "some African migrants".
The tragedy of Lampesusa gave cause to the establishment of a number of organizations and movements (e.g. the Stop Slavery in Europe, the Dr Tewelde Vaccaro committees...), as the Ona-Besikdira Massacre of December 1971, which claimed nearly 1,000 deaths in two days, also at that time angered young Eritreans in Europe and North America to form "Eritreans for liberation" movements.
The 368 Eritrean Lampedusa victims included Helen with her children Esrom, Delina and Bilen.
After four years of the pain of Lampedusa, Eritreans in all walks of life appear to have taken it easy. The evil Eritrean regime - that root cause of the ongoing Eritrean tragedies - is not only safe in Asmara but also apparently claiming to have taken the upper-hand. The tragedy today is that there is little to see from the opposition movements, associations in the diaspora.
Also soon after Lampedusa, the European Union acted fast and took measures, which still continue, to stop deaths in the southern shores of Europe. But, they took started to take it easy, and decided to let the root causes remain unaddressed. Instead, re-empowering regimes like that dictator Isayas Afeworki were preferred as the new normal. But tragedies similar to what happened near Lampedusa on 3 October 2013 continue unabated.
One European organ established soon after the Lampedusa shock is called Missing Migrants Project. It did not specify the number of Eritrean victims, but it went back to year 2000 and estimated migrant sea fatalities in the past 17 years at 46,000.
We Eritreans know that the number of compatriots who perished in the high seas and deserts is big, but we are not yet able even to take count our dead and missing compatriots.
During 2013, Mediterranean Sea victims numbered some 600. The number of Eritrean deaths was for sure not less than two-thirds of that number for that year.
In 2014, the Mediterranean Sea claimed 3,279 lives; in 2915 over 3,700 lives; in 2016 over 3,500, and so far in 2017 over 2,654 lives. Yet we cannot tell how many of the dead were Eritreans.
Even the remains of the highly publicized victims of Lampedusa remain in underground vaults, many of them still not identifies. Many more were added during the past four years.... and we are not even counting our dead let alone to jointly take action to stop the tragedies. console
