Out of the box thinking, she took the opportunity to fundraise for a righteous cause, independence war disabled and for young girls at Wadi-Sherifoy refugee school in the Sudan. The reportage we received from the USA confirmed, Ms. Araia split the funds she raised, 40% for the disabled and 60% to the young girls in Wadi-Sherifoy school.
Rahel came to learn about the above-mentioned recipients through her parents. When she shared the background information about the disabled and young school girls via a narrative video with her close friends and invited guested, they were touched and said they were very proud to participate in such righteous cause.
Rahel’s kindness won’t be measured by monetary contributions only. It is also measure by the lasting impressions of humanitarian and exemplary message it leaves with the Eritrean youth and their families.
In conclusion, giving to the needy parts of our community should not be about the quantities or qualities of the offer. It rather should be about the message it sends to the recipient. By recognizing the needy part of our community, we want to remind all to follow Rahel’s exemplary work of kindness.
