Eritrean Youth Global Movement Declared
The Eritrean Youth in Diaspora has a moral responsibility to stand up against those who chased them out of their beloved country and encourage Eritrean youth inside the country to take a positive initiative towards changing the current situation in Eritrea.
In pursuit of the above mentioned idea, Eritrean Youth in the North American region conducted a meeting on June the 20th in Alexandria (Virginia) after the symposium organized by EGS concluded. The Convenes discussed the atrocities perpetrated by the regime in Eritrea against everybody in general and against the youth in particular.
After intensive and harmonious discussions, the convenes reached a conclusion that a united youth organization can reinforce the struggle against the notorious and ruthless regime. To make the idea of unity and coordination a reality, a second meeting was held on June the 28th, which was attended by individuals, groups, media personalities, and some organizations from different parts of North America. Participants agreed on officially forming a broad based youth organization and agreed ‘Eritrean Youth Global Movement’ to be a temporary name of the organization. Participants also named 19 board members and Elected 7 Executive members to lead the organization for the interim period of six months.
In conclusion, convenes called upon individuals, groups and organizations to join and help them in making this noble initiate a success.
